This could be worrying for anyone using a claims management company, as the one who contacted me would have taken 20% of any payout, did it on my own in the end. I would suggest that anyone using one of these companies contact them straight away to find out what happens if all of the refunded is credited to the loan, and not paid as cash they may have to find the cmc,s fee seperately. better safe than sorry.
This is what happens with a claims co,you will end up owing the claims co the fee, even though you have had no redress back to you.
The way they look at it is this, you have had the benefit of having your debt reduced.
  • I'm in the same boat verymadmax.

Been phoning the call centre at least once a week. Managed to get my M.P's full support this morning and have started emailing the CEO's x

    Good luck Verymadmax x

You too - i guess luck is all it takes with these idiots!!!!!

Well there certainly doesn't seem to be any other logical system to it!
  • Am I getting this right? With the open loan cases, is the total amount of PPI premiums already paid together with interest put towards reducing the remaining amount of the loan itself?

If that is the case, that cannot be right. The whole basis of the mis-selling complaint is that these payments should never have been paid in the first place, so it is up to us what they are now spent on. It is not LTSB's decision whether it goes towards reducing the loan or a fortnight in the Caribbean.

That must be a breach of contract and a breach of any number of regulations.
