LloydsTSB PPI Payment

Offer letter dated 02 August, interest calc up until 24th Aug, I've been phoning every week still getting nowhere. Woman from LTSB current A/C phoned yesterday saying they would close my account cos I was £170.00 over my limit, I explained I was waiting for my £6K refund from PPI, she said it's got nothing to do with it, so I had to make a payment or the refund would probably end up in cyber space! She also said "why don't you phone them to find out when I should expect payment" HA HA!
In the meantime the reclaim company I used (waste of space) are demanding 25% plus VAT @ 20%, is that right? can they charge VAT on compensation? and they want it within 7 days HO HO!
Any one else experienced this?
I am still waiting from the same time. I was getting texts last month saying I would be charged for going over my overdraft, but it seems there are so many departments that nobody knows who is doing what! I was told 7 days ago that the 'delay' in my payment would take 7-10 days as it was being chased. i will be phoning again thursday if no joy. Its been 63 days from the original date of the letter after originally being told 21 days. I am now beyond angry! :mad:0 -

I have now had the same letter 4 times since Saturday advising me of the total due to be refunded.
No wonder things are taking so long.
If I get my payment by 26/10/11 (the date the interest is calculated to) I will be amazed.0 -

Wow sounds like most of you are finding it difficult getting the money offered to you.
I am in a slightly different situation. I've been waiting 16 weeks for a response from LTSB about my claim. The date on the receipt of acknowledgment is 19th June and I sent it out on the 10th June. They had 16 weeks to give me an answer to my claim. Has anyone had this situation where they haven't responded in the correct timeframe? If so, what can you do about it? I'm trying to call them (been on hold for half an hour now!) so thought I would take to the forum to find out if anyone else has been in this situation?
Thanks!!0 -

Me, I sent my letter off on the 10th October 2010... I didn't get a response until the 19th August :rotfl:0 -
Wow that's a long time!
I've just got through to LTSB (finally!) and they said that they sent the letter out on the 2nd September. She has re-sent it to me. I got her to read it and my claim has been rejected!
Even though I was told I could only take my loan out if I also took out the PPI... a lie! I have also tried to cancel my PPI and told I couldn't (another lie!)... what do I do now?!0 -

Hi there,
In the spirit of the Lloyds TSB thing I got a letter the third week of September. I called up and the woman was very nice on the phone, I was calm and made it clear that I wasn't going to take anything literally but could I get a rough idea of the payment date. She said they'd stopped giving out timescales because of the backlog - so I'm hoping anytime before xmas.
Weridly I asked if the money would be used to pay off my current loan (not what I want) she said it wouldn't but the amount would come off it for a couple of days before the cheque was generated. She said she didn't know why but it's done this way. In all honesty I'm panicking a bit as I want the cheque, not the loan reduced.
There's nothing I can do - I'd be keen to know if anyone else is in a similar position (e.g. have a current loan with LLoyds) and know if they are going to be paid in full as opposed to have it pay off their loan?0 -

When I got my refund from Lloyds for my loan almost £10K, they only took out the arrears (I'm self managing a DMP) and sent me the balance via cheque. I didn't mind that as it meant my loan was severely reduced and also enabled me to pay off a couple of smaller debt with the balance. This was back in early March!Long Hauler No: 51
