  • As she has changed the ring, there is no way for her to return it to you in its original condition, therfore she shouldnt be able to return ot now. Surely
  • And why has she left it this long to inform you she'd already had work done on the ring? Surely this should have been mentioned in the dispute? Sounds to me that she's gone to a dodgy jewellers to have it resized on the cheap, they've screwed it up and now she's hoping to get her money back from you.

I really hope that eBay/Paypal show some common sense for once and side with you on this.

Sounds like the resizing has put stress on the claws that hold the diamonds (Bending them in a tighter circle to which they were first set). That's my opinion anyway, but I know nothing about jewellery.

Hopefully this will be the turning point in your dispute. Just make sure Ebay/Paypal know this.

The moral of the story is i will buy from e-bay but will never sell on there again it's not worth the hassle

Don't let this put you off. Not all eBay buyers are like this, in fact only a small minority. It can be distressing at times but also rewarding. I personally wouldn't sell anything this expensive but small inexpensive household items or kids toys that you no longer need can provide a nice income boost.

Thanks for letting us know the outcome. Pleased you won your case as up until the final communication from the buyer, I thought it was going to end badly for you. I don't think the buyer was a seasoned scammer as they would not have told you about the resize of the ring.
