    Morning all

    Happy Birthday N9eav

Happy Anniversary Pink and CC. Pink I hope your little one gets to see the doctor quickly.

    Good luck Blairweech.

Today is going to be a very quiet day here, I can't even take part in my own challenge as today is the bedrooms but DH is still on nights. He will come home at 9.30am and not get up until 7.30pm, then I have to cook his tea and try and spend some time with him before he leaves the house at 9pm. I daren't start the hoover then as DD will have been in bed for 2 hours! The rest of the house is spotless so I may spend some time baking in the kitchen making that a mess instead :D

    Morning everyone :)

Happy Birthday N9eav - I hope you have a lovely day

I was giggling away at the thread last night, you're a randy bunch! Oh and I have to plan our dalliances in advance as I hardly ever see him. There ain't no spontaneity in our house  :D. I agree Dlb, it's a shame the who's who past was spoilt.

DD and I are going to have a girly morning. We have some cheques to pay in and right by the bank happens to be a starbucks. So it is a skinny carrot cake for me and a coffee and a chocolate brownie and warm milk for dd. We only do it every couple of months so I am looking forwards to it. I am also on a mission to find some nice fluffy towels I haven't decided what colour yet so will see at the time.

OH is away tonight so just the three of us. We are having minestrone soup and crusty bread for tea. I have managed to keep on top of the housework lately so don't have too much to do today.

As an aside yesterday I saw a relative that I don't see very much. I made a conscious decision to give up work when I had my kiddies and I still miss my job (and I realise I am lucky to have been able to have had that choice). And he said to me "What exactly do you do all day" in a very condescending way as if I shouldn't be doing what I was doing. It's the first time I've ever been made to feel like that and I was gobsmacked. Granted I don't have the stress of a 9 - 5 job and I do have time to do quality things but my day starts at 7am and finishes at 8pm (when oh leaves and comes home) when the kids are in bed with no help from anyone and no lunchbreaks or teabreaks. Bigoted fart  :D:D:D

    Have a lovely day :)

    Hi all,
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to n9eav! Off today. Really enjoying only working two- and -a -half day week! Plans for today..... change DD and DS's beds first. Decided to make lasagne for tomorrow's dinner (tastes better made the day before) don't know about tonight tho, any suggestions?
Sent off my last cheque to Barclaycard yesterday, NO CREDIT CARD DEBT for me now!!!! That's £250 a month I won't have to find, useful now, as wages will be halved next month!:rotfl:

Must stop looking at ebay tho, I've got so many designer clothes, I won't be able to wear them all!

Have a good day all, whatever you're doing.

I can empathise with this gingin........When I was a full time mum I had a 'friend' who once said it was alright for me sitting at home counting clouds all day. Even thinking about that comment still annoys me.

Oooooh, ain't that the truth!  When I started at CAB as a volunteer (after 10 years as SAHM), I was at a family party and a relative of DH kept asking me why I did something like that without being paid for it. What was the point of volunteering, he kept saying. I had to walk away or there would have been a scene.

Mothers can't get it right - if we are at home bringing up our children, we're letting down the exchequer by not earning; if we go to w*** we're *dragging up* latch key kids.

End of rant.............now how many clouds today............

As for our mate on the Who's Who thread, as someone wisely said, treat him like you would a 3-year old after attention. A few pages of complete ignoring, and he'll be off to irritate someone else. Have to admit, I was a bit taken aback when I read his first post (his comment made it clear that he keeps up with OS, and hasn't just come across this thread by accident) but I don't believe it's really abuse, just mild irritation.

Can't stand people like that, why even comment??!! Well I take my hat off to you! And any other SAHM/D's. I'm a 'part time stay at home mum!' I go to work for a break! Only do 2 1/2 days 'paid' work, but I tell you what, I look forward to getting there - gossip, tea, biscuits, oh & a wee bit of work too! LOL !
:D I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D

I'd love to be able to go back to work. I miss adult conversation but where in the hell am I supposed to find someone to look after a 13 year old boy with AS and pick up a 5 year old from a different school. Have them all day when they are off sick or there are inset days?

I do 100% of everything in this house. DH goes to work, goes to sleep, gets up. eats tea and goes out to work again. Where the hell would I find time to do everything I do and go out to work too?

    Thanks everyone.

I didn't really let it wind me up but I have never given a thought to what other people think to me being a housewife and never ever considered people would see it negatively. So it was the first time I had it thrown in my face and it stunned me slightly (you know when you think of a really clever retort 10 minutes after the incident ) . Anyway he's a childless 60 yr old male so I really am not going to take it to heart.

Hello all, I cant believe how long this thread is already and its only 8.14am! Today i have to really clear my house and try to make it look bigger as we have people coming over tomorrow to view it.I need to dismantle the cabin bed in my daughters room as it is not being used at the moment and it would make that room alot bigger by doing that. I havent got a clue whats for dinner but will do something like home made pizza or similiar.Loads of washing to do but thats normal for this household. Not much else to say except have a good day, I cant believe its february already! Hugs to those in need of one, Love Elaine x
