I potted 24p last night. Don't think I will be doing any spending today maybe except for some petrol for the car.
Can I ask a bit of advise please? I am doing a few challenges which means not all my change goes to my SPC. So £1 a day goes into a different pot, £2 coins going into another (well technically they go into my SP) but it's a different challenge if you know what I mean. Do you all keep your challenges seperate or would you include them in your seal pot one. I know it's just personal perference but just want to know how you all do it. Thanks xxBarclaycard: £4,217.55/£5 = 0.11% | Tesco £3,810.55/£3,770.55 = 1.05%
Total: £8,027.80/£5 = 100%/0.06%
Mortgage £99,692/£51,652.33 51.8%
Car Loan: £9,217.20/7,527.38 81.67%

I keep mine all separate although I do use some of the money from the £2012 in 2012 towards the debt free by Christmas challenge but that's only because it makes much more sense to use it to pay the debts off! My sealed pot and £2 etc are separate.Debt Free by Christmas 2012 #205 DONE!£2012 in 2012 #128 £1900/£2012£2 Saver 2012 #78 £0/MOT0 -

Just waiting on someone giving me a load of bubble wrap before I arrange for a courier to come and pick up a big box of CDs I put on zapper.co.uk. They are going to give me £22ish (I think they might knock a quid or so off as one or two of the cases have cracks in them). When I get that cheque I will pay it into my account but then draw it out and put it in my pot.
If I leave it in my bank it will just get swallowed up in the bills.
Have found quite a bit of roadkill lately - helped greatly by the fact that the long road to my children's pre-school is also the path the 11-17 year olds take to their school halfway along the road. I am FOREVER finding 5p, 1p and 2p pieces on that path.
There is also a factory sweet shop at the end of the road so that is where they are spending their dosh and then flinging their change on the ground for me! :T

Hello, I'm a bit like you, I have a separate pot for £2 and my £1 a day goes in my pot with my change because when it comes to counting up, you have to separate the scrapnel into different bags so you can tell how much you have saved then. Hope this helps. By the way, your saving pots get full faster and its a good feeling (well it is for me anyway). Psycological I know.
got enough £1 for next week so in the cats head they have gone and 2 x £2 for the owls head and £3.20 for the cats head by way of change too.

Hi all, £20 for me last night :T
I have a question - I'd like to open my pot and bank some of it because I know there's at least £50 in there just with the notes - is that OK? And how do other people do it? Just bung it in normal account and ringfence it? Or open a new account just for sealed pot?
It snowed here last night quite a lot, but the roads are clear and I enjoyed stomping into work in my yellow wellies :rotfl:
Keep warm folks

As I get paid weekly, I'm potting now on a Sunday night. Whatever I have left in my pocket/purse, goes straight in the pot (leaving £1.10 out for the bus on the Monday in case of bad weather).
Last week had hoped to pot almost £15, but coming back from my long weekend away, trains had put bus replacements on for some of the journey, and too many people queuing for the bus meant my friends and I got a taxi which cost £40. So ended up potting £2.00 ish in the end (once we got to destination after bus we were so cold we got a coffee).
Have been really good this week, I've only taken out £40 in cash and still have over £10 of that left.
I've lost count on how much my pot holds now, but I'm hoping it'll be a surprise in November.Sealed Pot Challenge No 3060
