Hi everyone - not been potting much lately due to working full time and having lots of NSD's which is good I suppose.... DS18 has one of those tins you need to empty with a can opener. Every time I find change in his room I've been putting it in over the last couple years and it's almost full - looking forward to him opening it but he's not that bothered!Hoping to retire earlier than 67!0

Put my big coat on for first time in ages (bl**dy freezing out there!) and found 5p in the pocket - potted :-)

Nice shiny pound potted today.Sealed pot #15260

Got a nice £2 coin today which has gone in the pot, accompanied by another £2.00 which would normally have bought 2 saver stamps from Mr M. plus 48p change from shopping. I decided to put the saver stamp money in the pot as we have started shopping around instead of just in Mr M and Mr S.
Hugs to all.

Hi there sparky and it's so good to hear your throat is so much better! I hope you're feeling much better all through too? DW also?!Have started afresh with my sealed pot just this week after raiding the pot prior to xmas and banking the proceeds. Not ideal but meant december wasn't fraught with a huge overdraft/credit card debt and meant I started the new year with only a small amount of my salary being eaten up before I started.
All in all that's pretty good, Flat Eric! Had you asked about it first that's exactly what you'd have been advised to do, so a very wise move indeed!!! Far better to start the year afresh. BTW, we open the pots this year on 29th November!
Brilliant savings on your coupons and.......now in your pot, Muppet_baby!!! :jjess1011 wrote:Also on post one it says "Any money given as a gift (other than Birthdays, Christmas etc) ie. inherited can not be included as savings." I sont mean to sound stupid but does that mean I can include birthday/Christmas money or not?
It's not stupid at all, Jess, and is far better to ask if you're not quite sure.
You're right, you can include any money given for Birthdays and Christmas, but not anything which has been inherited. Please, just ask if you're unsure, not matter how silly it may appear to you. The only silly question is the one that isn't asked!
Fantastic news, blindtoast, that is amazing savings!!! :T
Boys eh, TheBees! They don't see money in quite the same way as we do as they've not had time to experience good and bad or the real worth of money. Later on I'm sure with you as a great example to follow!
Very well done with the £10er and the 5p, Crunchy Nutter!! :T
Very wise to get back on the quieter ponies, supasick, give your injuries chance to recover, your confidence too!
A £1's terrific, Gumpf...see, you're picking u again! :j
Well done, ModestyB, best to shop around and save what we can.Have a really lovely Sunday everyone.

I'd like to join this challenge and just going to say thanks for your post as my little one got given a present at nursery - its a tin with flying saucer sweets on outside and a money slot (a thin one) but no opening and I was thinking today how the heck am I going to open that so put it for charity shop....but now I am joining this and now that you have helpfully told me how I will eventually open it I will be fishing it back out and using it - thanks! My elder boy wants to make a papier mache Scooby Do out of his Scooby Annual so that could also become a sealed pot!0 -

Morning supasick
Have you seen the new "Sherlock Holmes" movie? There's a scene in that where they have to ride a horse & Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) won't get on one because
