    Hi,

May I join please. I've actually got my husband on side. He usually won't join in, but at Xmas a friend opened her jar and had over £80 in it and he was impressed, so I'm striking while the iron is hot - if he doesn't do it I'll just go through his pockets, as he's agreed to the challenge it'd be churlish not to really!!

I've just put an ad on Freecycle to try and get a pot - until then I've cut the top off an empty plastic bottle.

  • Morning all,

2 x £2 coins in the tin & 27p in the piggy today.

Wow at how many newbies there are and even bigger WOW that Sue & Sparky make everyone feel so welcome & manage to keep up with everything. (I know I can't).

Big thanks to both for running this thread & making it a great place to join.

    Stressed:)

morning all. I read but don't always get time to post here. I just wanted to share what happened to me on Wednesday. I had a dream I was walking down the street and saw a penny on the floor. I bent down to pick it up and there was 3 more near it. So I picked those up too. Then I saw another 2 a bit further away so picked them up. The more I looked the more pennies I saw and I spent most of the night picking them up! The next morning walking DD to school I thought "I wonder if there's something in my dream?" so i kept my eyes peeled to the floor in case I found the hundreds of pennies from my dream. I was nearly home and hadn't found a single penny. I was passing the shop a couple of doors down from my house and I looked down and found a very wet £5 note!! There as no one around so I picked it up and took it home! That must have been all the pennies from my dream all rolled into one £5note. :)

Found two 1p's by Moorgate, one was right by a Big Issue seller and I felt a little guilty not giving it to him, but then I'm not in a position to be giving money away until I've cleared the debt I have.

Hi all, can I join please?

I have no target but will put what I get out in Nov into my overall target to save as much as possible before we move out at the end of the year. I've had a change bottle for years but it has only been for 1ps, 2ps and 5ps. £2 coins I save seperately.

To kick start my savings this year I am thinking of withdrawing my money at the start of each week then anything smaller than a £1 will go in my sealed pot. Anything larger than a £1 will go in my reg saver or ISA. This will hopefully stop the trend towards going over my budget every week!

I'm also going to try and get my OH to join in but we'll see! My 'pot' isn't exactly sealed but it is so hard to get large quantities of coins out that I never empty it early. Its one of those giant whisky bottles that I got as a child from the dump and I love it so hope it counts? :D

Mr Tumble is very nightmare inducing!
