Possible scam

I have 2 very old jade items on ebay,Im not really sure of the value and while they have watchers they are yet to get a bid after 2 days (starting bid between £50-100). A chinese buyer has offered me £500 each via a message and said he will pay via paypal, bow they could be worth £500 as similar items are going for £500-£1500 but some others much less.
The buyer has 137 100% but is 'private'

Is he lining a scam up?
Thanks, HH.

Actually this may be legitimate; the Chinese are going frantic at the moment for 'good' pieces of their heritage.
I would offer him a 'buy it now' on eBay - don't be tempted to trade 'off' eBay though.
Good luck!"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -

Wow! That's a lot of money! The chap has been on eBay for 5 years with just the one ID, but I can understand you being cautious.
Personally I'd sell to him but be careful that you've described the items absolutely accurately; imagine getting into a SNAD dispute.........:("I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -
Also put a secret mark on each piece so that if they are returned you will know you have got your property back.0

They seem to check out ok.
I would still ask a couple of sellers he has bought from just to ease my mind!

Just done it myself and told you how, but they are only recent purchases.0 -
He seems very keen, emailing every few hours.
Any ideas how much 4 small pendants would cost to send to china, recorded and insured?0 -

Yeah thanks, I did check goofbay, i thought we were talking about a more detailed history. He has spent £1100 over the last 120 days, but it all seems very recent and he has only left 1 feedback.
Thanks for the reply's.0
