Hi, no i don't but m thinking about it. I have a lot going on at the moment so not sure I'd get the chance to post regularly and whether it would be worth reading! We have 17 years left on our mortgage & whilst husband thinks its a good idea to pay off, he leaves the money side of things to me. So unless I make a start wi overpayments I just won't happen.

Good luck Moomi, do you have a standing order or just make random payments? You could join a challenge thread and use that for occasional updates if you didn't want your own diary.

Well my payments are £532.32 a month & I'm not sure what we can stretch to for o/p so will start by rounding it up to what we were paying before old deal ended last year. I think that's about £85? I feel so far behind the game reading everyone's pages on here! Buy to let's, 2 & 3 mortgages all with not much left, houses abroad, wow!

I'm 43 & would like to think I'd get it paid off by age55 which makes it 12 yea instead of 17 currently. Thanks for the tip, I might just do that about joinng a challenge. I have bank acct with mortgage balance in it & from some point in march th acct is changing so you can see your mortgage statement etc online so if its an odd amount ill try & even just pay off £2 or £3 to round it down. Going to take the odd couple of quid from child benefit (£2.80) and £5 monthly payment made to me by the bank & at the end of each week sweep over the odd couple of pounds & pence out of mine & husbands accounts & then pay this off too.

Moomi, everyone is at different stages but what is great is that we share a common goal :T. All the little pennies really do add up, and they keep your interest going which is half the battle really.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Great diary - I haven't managed to read it all but will try to get caught up.

Am I right in thinking you have chickens? I have chicken envy if you do!!

Some of you meals sound wonderful so I may pinch some of your ideas.:)

Good luck with being MF by 50 - that is my plan too but I only have 5 years to do it but with some clever juggling and cutting back I think it is doable!
  • Thank you, mamamags!

This week we are having Chicken tagine (from Tilly's thread), sausage and bean pie and steak.

I got two Listerines today so I might claim their money back guarantee. I'll look into how to do it.

We are doing some mystery shopping this weekend, not bad pay and free food!
