Well we certainly had a good drop of snow today, I reckon about 20cm. More forecast for overnight and tomorrow, so we've had to cancel our visit tomorrow.

  • A beautiful morning! I feel quite poetic after tramping through the snow to let out the chickens and leave some seed on the bird table. It's so peaceful!

We've gone £22 over budget for this week, but we did shopping for next week so the underspend should be good next week. I'll deduct it from my sig.

I made the spinach filo pie from Jamie's 30 minute meals today and to be honest I didn't like it much! It had too much lemon zest in it so if I was going to make it again then I would leave that out. I have a nicer recipe for a spinach filo pie from a magazine that has piquante peppers in it, so I would probably use that one if I ever felt the urge for a spinach fix again.

I saw Annabel Karmel on Sky news this morning and I was very impressed! She seems very sensible so I have ordered her book from Amazon (1p + £2.80 postage).

I'm a bit annoyed with myself as the booster highchair from Mothercare that we need was £17 in the sale but I dillied and dallied, dallied and dillied, and now it's gone back up to full price! Grrr. So we are scouring ebay etc.

MSE activities recently include using a discount code to get 50% off at funky pigeon, and also prepaid to get some free money.

Our mortgage statement arrived today- 28 years and 11 months left a11.gif
Only £133 actually overpaid at the mo as most of the overpayments go into the ISA.

Also in the post was a £1 coupon off pampers, and my £10 Virgin voucher from consumer pulse. It didn't take long at all to earn that :T

We have managed to get a good deal on a booster chair for Min-MSE. There is one we like for sale at Boots, we have a £5 off a £20 spend voucher and also £14 worth of high street vouchers from our market research. So reduced from £25 to £11. I have added the £14 to my MOC total.

Had to buy a large haggis from Waitrose as they had sold out of the little ones. That'll teach me to get there earlier next time!

Had my email to say I'd been accepted for the Royal Mail posting scheme, my first pack will arrive in the week commencing 25.2.13

Had a lovely week, I've been making more of an effort to get out and about with Mini-MSE as I've got a bit of cabin fever with not being able to go out for walks. We went to a free taster session for baby sensory today, which was lovely as she was really taking it all in, didn't cry and stayed awake!
Another mum told me about a swimming class which is cheaper than waterbabies, but sounds similar.

Just signed up for the free sample of L'Occitane hand cream as per the freebies board, and also will collect 3 tolkens in the Sun this week to get £9.50 off a train ticket. I am going to the big smoke in April for a hen do, so I can use it to make my ticket about £10.

Off to see Les Mis tomorrow, so if I don't post on here it's because I had to go to bed early from too much crying.
