Are you just tracking food spends or all spends each day?MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Just food! But today was actually a real NSD.
I don't count toiletries, laundry stuff or baby stuff as that's all essentials. It was the food spends that were ridiculous as we weren't planning at all so would pop into Mozzas every day and buy for that evening.Slow progress is better than no progress.

I might borrow your idea then if you don't mind although for now it will just be to see what we are spending and then I can see what we can do with it.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I saw on the grocery challenge in old style that they recommend collecting all receipts for the first month and spend as usual so you can see where your money goes.Slow progress is better than no progress.

Have you tried just shopping once a week? I found that the more often I shop the more opportunities I have for buying things not on the shopping list:D
To try and minimise the damage I do our meal plan for the week, write the shopping list and just do the one shop. We haven't got children to think of so may not work if you've got little ones. We use frozen veg towards the end of the week and if I shop carefully (ie buy unripe bananas etc) then at least some of the fruit lasts till the end of the week. Doing this, and shopping mainly at Aldi, has cut about 1/3 off our shopping bill (and means that most days would be NSD if i could kick the coffee habit at work)

Hi PP, I have recently started planning meals and it has definitely helped me to regain control over the food spend!Slow progress is better than no progress.

Just in case you've got that song out of your head......A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Nooooooooo! I can't decide if I want to see it but DH reasoned that I've already got the songs in my head, so I might as well. I was haunted for weeks last time I saw it. Fantine is so sadSlow progress is better than no progress.
