  • I have phoned the mortgage company and they have given me a balance so I can update MFiTt3 with an accurate figure.

Our mortgage currently stands at £199,368 one year in! So we have paid off £3632 in one year, after paying in £11616- how depressing!!

So my MFiTt3 target is now £177,850 as I didn't take into account the ongoing payments that I would be making.

I have also decided to do a grocery challenge, as our food spend is certainly an area where we have little or no control. As I'm at home all of the time, and now in charge of the meals, I will be able to exert a certain amount of control. I am setting myself a target of £10 a day, which can be carried over and any surplus banked.

    So far this week:
    Monday- £30 in Tesco
    Tuesday- NSD
I shall attempt an NSD tomorrow to get back on track. We have plenty of food in the freezer, so shouldn't be a problem.

    £10 grocery challenge:

    Monday: £30
    Tuesday: NSD
    Wednesday £18

So my hopes for an NSD today were dashed when I went back to the new Tesco to deliver my golden ticket to the customer services (can win £200, £50 or £50 worth of giftcards). There was loads of meat reduced as it is a new store and they have obviously over ordered. I spent £13 on 4 packs of beef mince, 1 pack lamb mince, 1 large pack pork medalions, and 2 large brisket pieces. So...that should reduce my spending over the next few weeks if I batch cook successfully with them.

I have been eating my carrot and turnip soup that I made on Sunday all week for lunch, which is a double whammy as it is 0 points as well!

A few transfers made this evening:

£46.71 from wages account clean up.
    £20 MOC money
    £5 Halifax money.

That now completes my MSE overpayments for 2013, so now on Jan 2014. How ridiculous!! But I can't think of another way to do it and keep it in little achievable chunks.

  • Done my ad points for this week too.

Also joined the library today for Mini-MSE. Got some lovely books and she likes me reading to her. Well, she doesn't cry, which is always a good sign!

  • One more update: I have a new nephew! He arrived safely yesterday :)

We sold an amazon book as well, so the £4 from that sale should arrive soon.

Hope mini-MSE is better! Congrats on your new nephew too!! :)
  • Thank you! She is getting better, she has her 16 weeks jabs today :( She is blissfully unaware which breaks my heart :'(

  • Added £1.50 to the MOC total as I found a discount code online for funky pigeon.

  • Added another £4.50 to my MOC total as I just ordered a coat from F&F online. It was already reduced from £60 to £30, then I found a code for another £4.50 off, so have got it for £25.50! It is free delivery as I've asked for it to be delivered to a store. I can throw away my holey coat now! I didn't want to spend loads as hopefully I'll be thinner next winter.
