  • Transferred the halifax £5 free money, sooo close to 25% of next year's target! Didn't win the Euromillions :(

Have managed to reach the £1k spend on the nectar credit card, thanks to buying 6 tickets to see Frankie Valli next year. So we should have 10,000 nectar points heading our way soon! We'll go back to the Tesco card now as more places accept mastercard than amex and it is too confusing trying to remember so many pin numbers!

    Hmmm dilemma.

The nectar card is 1 point per pound spent. 1 point is worth half a p. Most of the time the points are only worth face value.
The clubcard card is 1 point for every £4. 1 point is worth 1p. You can exchange for more value on rewards (up to 4x)

    So if I spent £100 on nectar = 100 points = 50p
If I spent £100 on clubcard = 25 points, potential to be worth £1

Drawback with tesco is it only gives points for every £4, so f I spend £7.99 I only get 1 point.

UNLESS I am spending in the respective supermarket and therefore will earn more points.

Oh dear, maybe I need to put down the laptop and get some fresh air!

  • Amazon and Fonebank money have arrived! So that's £39.86 transferred and sig updated.

It's also weigh-in day and I lost half a kg. I'm quite happy with that as it means I kept the half a stone from last week off and week 2 is notorious for staying the same or only losing a bit. I'll keep at it! It's a nice day today so might go out for a walk after Mini-MSE's next feed.

Excellent news with dodgy ebay vouchers, I had opened a resolution case to ask for a refund, heard nothing so escalated it to ebay to decide. Heard back straight away that they ruled in my favour, so a refund has been issued. Good old ebay!
Had another look at the recent feedback and it seems everyone has had to do the same. I don't know if she's only recently started selling dodgy vouchers as previous feedback isn't too bad. She hasn't got any more items for sale now.

I'll transfer the refund when it appears. update- appeared and transferred.

Hello Missis - Well done for your amazon and fonebank money :) Great that your eBay has been refunded too - serves the dodgy seller right!

Well done on your weight loss so far :) I think I've found it for you judging by the scales :( I'd avoided them for two weeks but having seen them this morning I'm back on the healthy eating bandwagon! We can keep each other motivated in the new year :)

Lol @ you working out which card gives more points - I'll admit I did the same though recently. My Amazon card works out better than my other CC for loyalty points but my other CC is interest free for another 12 months which is always useful when purchasing larger items. Stuff I know I've got the money in the bank for (such as petrol etc.) I put on my Amazon card, other 'big' stuff that I don't want to pay for immediately (more often than not because I sometimes buy 1 or 2 items and take one back - which is a pain when you pay your CC bill then have to wait for a refund which ends up as credit!) I put on the other one.
  • Account clean up from my wages account- £52.59 transferred and updated.

I have about £850 in one of my little savings accounts that has been there for ages and I'm not sure why I saved it up! I was very tempted to transfer it into the overpayments account but then I thought I would be better to use it as a buffer while I'm on maternity rather than lock it away. Our car insurances are up in December, so it will be useful for that.

  • Have a few MSE activities to report today!

DH and I did a market research survey on coffee this morning, earned £10 each. Spent it on a nice lunch in Ask, but DH had found a voucher for £2 main course, so we saved £8!

We popped into the butchers where DH used to work as he wanted a Beef Wellington for his tea. They gave it him free!

All added to the MOC total.

  • Had a nice curry last night with friends and this time remembered to pay the bill on my tesco card and keep the cash. So that's 44 points for nothing! I'm a nice cheap date at the moment as I was nicely tipsy on a pint and a half of lager!

Did go ape again today for a hen do and did much better, I used my legs to climb up the ladders rather than my weedy little arms.

I've finished preparing my presentation for the interview, just need to practice a couple of times to time it and also prepare some answers for possible questions. Scary!

  • Had a nice surprise when I went on my nectar app this morning- the 10,000 points from the Amex have gone on! Plus the points for the pounds I spent. I now have £64 worth of nectar points burning a hole in my pocket!
