Good luck with the weight watchers, after i had my baby i joined up for the free 3 months using topcashback and have to say it really worked for me, i lost about 2 pounds a week for the first 4 weeks then 1 pound a week after. Stopped doing it when the 3 months were up and i haven't gained it back as i just stick to the same rules:)
I would recommend saving their reccomended prtion sizes somewhere though, like a notebook or word doc, as this is the important bit for after you stop doing it officially. Otherwise you forget how big a portion of rice or pasta or whatever should be.
Have fun with it though and hope it works for you:)0 -
Withdrew my paypal funds and transferred into the overpayments account: £50.50
The front door looks great, looks like it's always been there! The bloke arrived at 8am so I'm glad I got dressed in time. He was done by 11 though, very efficient.
I'm meeting a friend for dinner tomorrow evening, I need to have a look at where we can eat and plan what to order that I can afford with my points.Slow progress is better than no progress.

Well done on the new front door - we could probably use one with a decent seal - but as FTBs there is a neverending list of jobs

What did you go for? UPVC or wood?0 -
Tips for eating out:
* Go for starter and main rather than main and pudding
* Avoid bread
*Avoid any creamy sauces, instead go for tomato based ones
*Opt for veggie options to cut down on points
* If going for meat then go for turkey or chicken rather than beef
* Order a side salad or side of veggies if you think you'll need to fill up
Oh...and enjoy:)0 -
Thanks for popping by, edinburgher, the door is a green composite one.
We had a quote from Everest for a wooden door which was astronomical! It would have been lovely but we hadn't saved enough and the door needed doing pronto. So this is a good compromise, it looks nice but was within the amount we had saved up.
Ecoelle, thanks for the tips! I've decided on Ask Italian and there is a salmon salad for 8 points or a spaghetti dish for 12. My friend isn't a big eater so hopefully I will avoid the starter and pudding traps.
INSALATA DI SALMONE:
Peppered oak-smoked flakes of salmon in a salad of Cos lettuce, spinach, radishes, yellow peppers, cucumber, Santos tomatoes, spicy-sweet cherry peppers and Altamura croutons, with a creamy herb dressing.
OR
SPAGHETTI AL POMODORO (V)
Santos tomatoes, garlic and fresh basil shine in this rich tomato sauce with buffalo mozzarella and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
Slow progress is better than no progress.

Ask for sauce or dressing on the side. Don't think a jacket pot is healthy as they may be fried (makes a change from pizza, Mars Bars & creme eggs
).
Have a good time :j.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Food dilemma sorted- we went to Yo! Sushi. The food is really low in points values and it was delicious! Another bonus was that my car park ticket didn't work so I got let out for free- I have added £3 to the MOC total to reflect the money I would have spent.Slow progress is better than no progress.

Ooh did you say the health visitor lent you the super duper electric breast pump? That is great. I have bought one but not opened it yet obviously. If I decide thats not the way to go I can return it or if I do use it, they seem to get around 50-60% of the original price back on eBay so I figured it was worth it. I wonder if our health visitor lends them out!?
Mini-MSE did well sleeping - is she still doing good?
Chocolate and snacks in the evening is my downfall too - perhaps when I get back on SW in New Year we can keep each other motivated?? I think I'll have at least 4 stone to lose too judging by the current number on the scale
Even though you can do SW when pg, I just can't face it really as I still feel sick most of the day so just want comfort food
I'm certain I'll regret this in the New Year !!! I really need to find some serious motivation though - my freezer is already full of SW friendly meals so I have no excuses! 0 -

Good to know QB Wolf, I got a Medela Swing which has amazing reviews, got it for £80 instead of RRP £130 so was pleased with that
PS - Sorry for hi-jacking the thread talking about pumps MFB50! :rotfl:0
