We have just booked our holiday for next year! My DH found that £30 of clubcard vouchers converts to £100 off cottges4you. Brilliant! Have transferred £100 to overpayments account and updated sig.Slow progress is better than no progress.

Ooh your holiday sounds nice, bet mini-MSE will enjoy that!
I saw that about Asda too - does the money have to be spent in Asda itself though?0 -
Just popped to tesco on the off chance that they would have any cheese as per martin's email. They did! I got two packs (4 blocks) for £2! Thanks, Martin!Slow progress is better than no progress.

Ammonite- it looks like the savings card is like a gift card that can only be spent in asda. There is a 2 year expiry from the date of the last transaction. Hmmm, I might give it a go, but our local Asda is a bit scary as the aisles are very narrow!
Feeling pretty smug as I have done a big chunk of Christmas shopping. Used Quidco and nectar. I have bought my nephew (8) and niece (11) a money jar from ebay where you can write on it what you are saving for. I wanted to get them the Alvin Hall children's book as well, but I'm not sure my sister would appreciate me preaching!Slow progress is better than no progress.

Pfew, I saw a world where there were no MFW diaries, and it was not good. Well done to the techs for fixing the forum!Slow progress is better than no progress.

Thanks for letting me know about Asda, we do have one closeby but I only go occasionally so may not be the best for me.
I know I had a heart attack last night when I saw the forums down
Well done for your Christmas shopping. I've started getting bits and LOVE getting presents delivered even though they aren't for me. Love looking at the credit card statement a little less though0 -
My new cheapo Nokia has arrived today, woo hoo! It's currently charging. It came with a SIM with £10 top-up already on, wonder if I can sell that on ebay? I've just investigated the price for my HTC wildfire, and the best price was £26 with £3 cashback as well! I find it hard to believe that someone would place such value on such a rubbish phone, but there you go. My work phone is an iphone, so my personal one doesn't need to be all singing all dancing, I just need it for calls and texts. The final stage in my evil plan is to get a free handset at Christmas when I'm eligible for upgrade and that should bring me a bit more cash! I will add the money to the total when it appears.Slow progress is better than no progress.

Update: Just listed the SIM on ebay for £5 BIN, that seems to be the standard rate for SIM and £10 top up. So, the phone was £19.99 including the £10 top up. I got £5 cashback (just had to raise a claim as it hadn't tracked), and hopefully £5 for the SIM. Will hopefully get £29 for the old handset (including cashback), so that makes my new handset a grand total of -£19.01! The best thing is that I really hated my old phone, so I will save myself loads of moaning time as well.Slow progress is better than no progress.

Morning, folks!
I feel very chirpy today as Mini-MSE slept from 10:30pm until 6:30am!!! Not sure if it's a fluke. Me and DH went for a curry last night and left her with the outlaws for an hour or so. It was blissful to eat a meal in peace! She is 9 weeks today, what a grown up girl already!
I've a few eBay things to post, one of which was a manual breast pump (tmi) that I never used as I had a super duper electric one from the health visitor. It sold for £16 which is pretty good! My other items will only yield pennies profit but at least they are out of the way.
Our new front door is being fitted tomorrow, got a much cheaper quote from a local bloke. It will stop the hall being so draughty and will be much more secure.
Happy Monday, everyone, it's payday week!Slow progress is better than no progress.

A couple of weeks ago we found a snail in a bag of peas from Mr T, it was perfect pea size! We weren't particularly traumatised and still ate some for tea, but I took the rest of the bag back so they could let their supplier know. I got a letter yesterday apologising and a £10 gift card! Result! The peas were only £1 in the first place.
Joined Ww online finally as need to shift 4 stone to stop me looking like a beached whale. Quidco are offering £30 cash back which pays for the first 3 months effectively. I'm feeling pretty motivated and I like the app, so no excuses for not tracking. I've done it before for my wedding, and can do it again. Chocolate in the evenings is my downfall, I'd love to get hypnotised to stop me eating it.
Just opened up a couple of disputes in eBay as some coupons I bought were very dodgy copies and I don't want to embarrass myself by trying to use them.
Had a bit of a short night as DH decided he's got man flu and took himself off to bed at 9:30. So I fed Mini-MSE and got her settled about 11. She woke up at 4 for milk and was back off at 5. Just woke at 6:30 as she was crying trying to do a botty burp. I brought her downstairs as she would have woken DH and she's gone back to sleep in my arms, little monkey! The door man will be here soon so I'll have to put her down to get dressed. My blue spotty dressing gown must be the talk of the sorting office as that's all the postie ever sees me in. But I won't give the window man the same treat.Slow progress is better than no progress.
