i have worked since i left school (bout 22 years) just over a year ago my wife wanted to go back to work so i could have the kids, so i applied for jobseekers and am looking for part time work, ok so far you would think,
because i didnt apply for it as soon as i left work (it was a year later) i wasnt eligable for it cos of contributions
i phoned em and ranted down the phone `if i was a druggie or an alci or a assylum seeker i would get it`

You made the mistake, as you didn't check the details when you left work by the sound of it.“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0

Sorry to go off subject, but this is interesting. I'm not aware of this story - is it true? Can't find it with a google - anyone know of a link that featured it, (that hasn't mysteriously vanished) or one that has been cached and is still available to view?Richard_S wrote:Which high ranking politicians wife was it that got caught smuggling jewellery or high value clothing through customs after a visit to China? Mmmm, that was swept very quickly under the magic carpet, was it somebody called Cherry or Cherie? can't quite remember, it's the one with the hideous smile that makes a fortune on the U.S lecture circuit, playing on her husband's position - I think they could be socialists.

i am a nice person thanks, it just wound me up when she said ive not made enough contributions, ive done 22 years worth of contributions !!!!!! ive never claimed any sort of benefits before (cept tax credits for 4 years)
i thought it should have been a plus point the fact that i didnt jump on the benefit wagon the second i left work, and when i needed a bit of help i got told no , that would wind anyone up surely??No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30

£25 per week is £1300 per year. At 22% that is £286 of income tax being avoided (assuming your personal allowance is used up with other income such as some benefits). Add £100 for failing to file a tax return and interest and other penalties.
Do what you think is right.
