emmaroids wrote:so folks who do car boot sales, selling on ebay, betterware, cash for surveys are all scroungers??
ok then glad we sorted that out
Oh pleeease. Sales of private goods are not subject to tax up to a certain level - so unless you pass the capital gains threshold with something then the answer to your question is clearly no.
Cash for surveys might well be taxable yes - I have never done them so I have not looked into the tax implications.
But earnings are subject to tax. No wriggling out of it through ridiculous comparisons. :rolleyes:0 -

Asylum seekers are different from immigrants. Asylum seekers are fleeing their country, probably after we've gone in and bomb it half to death. Most get no entitlements at all and the worst off get nothing for 6 months.
I am so glad that I am not as ignorant or biggoted as you. Why not try and share? Care about eachother?
Most immigrants are actually from America and Australia.
And yes you should blooming well pay your taxes. I'm surprised this thread hasn't been pulled TBH, moneysaving is NOT about ripping off the country, no matter how much others try and do it.
Have a look in the forum suggesting and forum policies part of the site. There is a thread by myself asking why threads like this one, stating HOW to rip off and how to get around paying tax are never pulled.
Yet when someone states its fraud, the thread is pulled and the person who called it fraud is banded a witch and a bully.
Reason I did the thread was because this kind of thing was happening. It always seems ok to tell how to evade tax and play the system on here. Your a bully if you say its fraud as were not supposed to 'judge' only 'help'

In response to the original question.............. legally:
If the OP is on any sort of benefits (including tax credits), then cash should be declared. Not to do so is (technically) fraud.
If the OP works, then the cash should also be declared, as taxation on "2nd jobs" is worked differently, and s/he may well be liable for tax. Not to do can be tax evasion.
If the OP uses her car for business, then her SDP insurance would not be valid, in the case of an accident (or even a tug by the police). To claim that a boot load of Pizza's was for "her mum", must rank (credibility wise), with those that claim the half a million fags in their boot after a trip to France, are for personal use.
If there was an accident, then it's trauma's all round trying to sort out compensation.
Whether CCCS would need to be informed is probably more a matter of honesty than legality.
It is true that some immigrants/refugees rip us off - but that's not really a valid excuse for everyone else to join in.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

The Benefits system, whilst not perfect, helps the poorest of our people, they are not just thrown on the scrap heap like in many countries.
Our children are not dying of starvation and/or Aids.
Most of us (unfortunately not all) have a roof over our heads.
We have clean water to drink and no food shortages.
So I think we should count our blessings.
Thank goodness for this post as a lot of the previous posts were making me feel depressed."Debt makes plans for you" - A quote from my friend Catherine. How true!0 -

school raided by gorrila`s,
This indeed would be terrifying, even without the intrusive apostrophe; but I expect you meant 'guerillas'!I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
