Hi emma,
I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but I think the onus to make deductions for paid employment rests with the employer and if it ever comes to light that you were receiving cash payments then it'll be the employers who'll get clobbered.
That's different if you're self employed and you do have to declare all your income. If you already have a job then you'll be taxed at yr marginal tax rate (a real incentive to encourage employment).
Which high ranking politicians wife was it that got caught smuggling jewellery or high value clothing through customs after a visit to China? Mmmm, that was swept very quickly under the magic carpet, was it somebody called Cherry or Cherie? can't quite remember, it's the one with the hideous smile that makes a fortune on the U.S lecture circuit, playing on her husband's position - I think they could be socialists.
My mind is befuddled as a result of being such a hard working tax paying citizen.
Good luck to you Emms and whatever you do if you're tempted to declare it don't forget to fill in yr P11D benefit in kind form for the free take a ways you get.

This is simply the take-away owners letting you break the law for their benefit.
Tax evasion and driving without insurance are high prices to pay just so you can line someone ele's pockets.
GGThere are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.0 -
I have business cover and it didn't cost me anymore to have it added on but it wasn't for delivery takeaways. I hasten to add, when I asked to have it popped on, they didn't ask what line of business I was in...Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0

What is there to answer??? If someone else wants to avoid telling the tax man (and they should as its income) then the choice is theirs, just as the choice is yours.
You run the risk of being slapped by the Tax Man. Okay, it may be for a nominal amount of money, but they will pick on you for years to come too. Only you can decide if thats worth it.0 -
I'd just make a call to be sure0

if its not a second job, you can earn up to 5035 per annum without paying tax although i dont know if it will affect any tax credits.0 -
