or should i just put what i get in the piggy bank ??

There seems to be something "ever so slightly" skewed about our society. The Labour Party's chief fund raiser has been arrested on a charge of perverting the course of justice relating to loans for peerages (influence, power, corruption) running into millions of pounds.
Back in the real world somebody who's got the motivation to spend their evening's working for cash is pilloried for not declaring it to the taxman. I'm not going to admit to working for cash but if I was doing I would follow our leaders' example and "back pocket" it.0

Clapton is right. If you are using your car for business purposes (not just commuting), you have to tell the insurance company and pay an increased premium. You may already be covered for business use, but you will need to look at your policy schedule and check. I have business use, but it's only another £20 a year or so.
If you're using your car for general business then yes, your increase could only be £20 per year. However, when the business involves delivering (esp food) it's usually a whole different case.... we were quoted an extra £300. I'd check your policy very carefully, just in case

60 quid for a couple of hours a week...I'd check what you are delivering!0

If you get stopped by the cops and they see that you are delivering food they will ask you to produce you docs. and then do you for having no insurance. They do it all the time up here.Don't ask me, Im SKINT0

The insurance is vital cos if you don't tell'em and you have a bump/ get your car stolen/ damaged it would cost you a fortune as well as open you up to prosecution for using it uninsured!! Don't forget delivery people are more of a target cos you have cash on you........!
2nd jobs get taxed on Basic Rate so you can lose about a third approx of what you are earning.
I'm not saying I agree with it all, but thats how it is! Debs.0
