I agree with keeping the thread going for all the support it gives people and also I believe MG would like to see it continue. I would start the new thread if anyone can give me pointers with the more tchie bits.
Had devestating news yesterday, my SIL has anal cancer(treatable) and is having a colostomy bag fitted today. Please spare as many positive thought and vibes as possible.
She has my thoughts, my OH's Mam was diagnosed with bowel cancer last year (on my birthday) a few weeks ago she was given her results from her full scan to say she is clear and doesn't have to go back to see them for a while. The bag was awful although we made light of it by giving it a name (Freda) and telling her off when she caused problems. Word of advice we found useful was create yourself essentially a nappy bag and keep it with you at all times, emergencies happen and its good to be prepared. The other thing were learnt to do was not to make plans, they were very much a planning family and learning to go on the fly minute by minute let alone day by day was a struggle but it really paid off if she wasn't feeling well as then no one was disappointed if appointments weren't made.
I hope her treatment goes well.HSBC CC - £3000 / £3000

Your SIL has my thoughts too - here's hoping that she recovers. It may help to give the cancer a name or even the colostomy bag a name.0

Robsmum, so sorry to hear about your SIL. If you pop over to 3Dogs diary on the debt free wanabe diaries, her husband has terminal cancer and a colomosty bag. Other people post on the thread whi have experience of colomosty bags and they offer very valuable advice.
I can't post link as on phone, but will do later0 -
Just posting with a job update as I have posted on here before about uncertainty...........well today got the confirmation that my job is safe and will continue albeit in a different setting - which puts 20 miles on my 90 mile roundtrip but the difference will be paid for
It will be a little different to what I have got use to but it will be a challenge with new responsibilities - there was never really a fear of not having a job but more that I will have to return to what I was doing 8 years ago and I certainly have moved on!

Robsmum sorry to hear about your SIL - in our thoughts and prayers.
Igamogam - yay for postive news re. the job - hope it is just what you want after all the shenanigans you've had to put up with recently.
AF order arrived today so house is now full of food, don't quite remember why I though we'd need so much custard but there you go! And on another positive front I've had a stay of execution for reports as ds was so poorly and I lost a week+ when I could have been writing them (although secretly I loved the cuddle time with ds) So now I can go to bed and get up at a normal time and still get my work done and still have time to eat and sleep:)Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Morning all. Good news on the job front Igamogam. I am back from my trip to see the advisor at the jobcentre, two jobs printed off that have appeared on their site since yesterday so I have to apply for them (one I would prefer over the other as I don't particularly want to go to Bearwood where I used to live as it means strain on the car and my wages would be spent on petrol:(). I need to go back on 28 June when I had hoped to move.
More packing has been done today and I was chatted up by the chap that lives below me. I am enjoying this chatting up malarky.
Today, I have managed to sort out my anti virus thingy on my computer, I thought I did it yesterday but hadnt done it properly - it now works:j
Dora - Custard is great comfort food - it can be eaten hot or cold, plain or with something like crumble, pie, cake, trifle, ice cream (must be served cold if having it with ice cream or jelly)
I can easily set up another Matrix thread - we just need a name for it.0 -
