    Happy birthday MG :bdaycake:
    Happy Birthday MG !

Inset day + dreary very wet weather = how on earth do I get some errands done and a medium boy entertained without us getting too wet? Answers please - :rotfl:

Actually we have some fixed things to work around, like the lovely plumber currently servicing the boiler and a physio appt.
    Moam

That is spooky - I have a physio appt this avo and am waiting on v nice man to call re coming to look at the boiler as its making strange noises so we think its the fan which needs cleaning - its due for a service next month anyway. Its making sort of grinding/growling noises and the cat won't go past the boiler cupboard just now as he's convinced it contains a predator .

BUT for once we don't have rain so that is one difference :D. Hope you don't get too wet....

    Happy Birthday, MG.

(Cake wrecks is one of my favourite sites, too. I look at it when I need cheering up as some of the actual "wrecks" are hysterical!)

Aw ladies!! – thank you so much for all your kind wishes today.

It makes my heart sing to know that you have spared me a thought in your busy day. I am having such a great Birthday and it is shaping up to be my best year ever in all sorts of ways.

You have all been such great friends to me over the last few years – taken me on an incredible journey from being completely skint in “71p and three nappies” through the “Make Do and Mend” years and onwards to “MG – Debt Free!”

The Matrix Rocks LOL But you already knew that didn’t you?

So now I need to wipe my eyes and blow my nose for a moment because I am coming over all sentimental. :rotfl::rotfl:

This current incarnation of “The Matrix” threads is coming to an end (you know how we need to restart the thread when it gets to 5000 posts?) and it’s about this time that we usually ask for a suggestion for a new name (and being the ladies we are, we are heavy on the word-play around the Matrix films in the forlorn hope that Keanu Reeves will pop his head in one day and turn our worlds upside down) Well ladies I am STILL living in hope.

But I have come to a decision – I need to spread my wings and tackle some new financial challenges – building a business, developing new products, getting back to work – and at the same time I do not want to tread on toes in this site because I owe it such a lot .................. I owe it all the friendships I have with you guys for a start.

But “rules is rules” – and if I stay on here chatting about my next steps then I think I am asking for a whole heap of trouble.

So today, whilst we are celebrating my Birthday I hope you all can find a place to celebrate me striking out beyond this forum to achieve some of my dreams that have been brewing over the last year or so since I found my Debt Free Day was actually going to arrive.

I am NOT disappearing off the face of the earth – rather I shall be simply be spending more time on my own homepage and pursuing my Mortgage Free in Three Big Bad Goal LOL.

If you want to know how I am getting on then please pay me a visit cos I am more than a little scared about this TBH.

But you ladies have taught me how to dream bigger, be braver and live bolder than any other group of ladies I have hung out with .................... and you, and MSE will always have the biggest place in my heart and my gratitude forever.

If someone wants to keep running with the Matrix please feel free to do so – it’s been a wonderful place to hang out, it truly has.

In the meantime I shall pop in and out to catch up with some old friends – and invite you to visit me in return to make some new ones too.

So although I am 43 today and not 42 – the most appropriate sign off would seem to be (in the best Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy tradition)
“So long ................ and thanks for all the Fish!”

I was at a stage version of tHHGttG radio show last night. It's amazing how the Universe works. May you too dream of Electric Sheep but get more sleep than Marvin. x

PS my presentation went well except for the fact that the canteen didn't deliver the food I'd ordered on time so we had to start without it and then my laptop tried to do updates part way through which meant we broke for food but there was a decent turn out. I was terrified, really need to fix that.
