  • Afternoon matrix, just popping out of lurkdom to say hello :)

Lots of lovely changes afoot for everyone by the sounds of things :j and a few poorlies too :o - I'm currently sitting in both camps!

After daring to dream very big, and saying !!!! it and being incredibly brave, I am moving north of the border in August/September and will be starting a whole new (and very musical life) in Glasgow. A lot of people have conspired to make it smoother than I could possibly hope for so far and I am really looking forward to it. I've made some friends and contacts up there already and can't wait to settle in.

Love and hugs to all, especially those facing uncertain times

Are you going to RSAMD? How exciting - but what a change.

So many questions - but lets just say - if you need any help - you just shout out loud and we will rally.

    Weeeheeee!!!

PS Yes Mum has just left with one littlie - to pick up the other after school and have a sleepover

  • yep - off to the RSAMD (or rather the RCS - Royal Conservatoire of Scotland as it is now known!) for 4 years. After that - who knows!

So I'm currently finishing my decorating here, going up for sale, and then will be looking for somewhere to buy later in the summer.

Thanks for the offer - everyone I know with even a remote connection to Glasgow is currently getting pestered :rotfl: including a couple I've met through here, but everyone has been so happy to help :)

hi, it's a free listing weekend on eb@y if that's on anyone's to do list.

Excellent - a big to do on this needed here, not only my stuff but some to sell via misionfish for a local charity. Best go get on the homework & dinner front - I have a busy evening attached to a camera :D

Now a question ladies - has anyone done a firewalk or organised a firewalk or used one to raise funds. At least one avatar suggests one matrixette has :) Options 2 and 3 probably apply to me later this year and I've been dared on option 1 but I am a wimp, so..can anyone share anything to help?

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Think there may be another connection here too - am going to see a friend tonight and her son is at RCS I think (started last year so still a newbie) Am sure he will say hi/give you a hand with stuff too :)

Tired tonight but going for a girly chat (aka stitch & b*tch as we all do cross stitching-type stuff) might even get round to some stitching this time:rotfl:

TFIF is all I can say :) Heck of a week considering it was only 4 days in work. Seen things, said things, done things that fair make the nerves jangle. Just got back from a favourite place in the mountains - they ( the mountains) looked so inviting this afternoon as I got home I decided to go straight on and not turn right. Strode up to my favourite rock by my favourite lake with a favourite view and sucked in as much of that mountain air as I could. Would have stayed to watch the sun go down but still in my work clothes - OK I dont wear twin set and pearls to work in that my 'outfits' are all very functional with chunky walking shoes as foot wear ( we have had the threat of a frog absconding this week:eek:) and even though I was wearing my down jacket ( its May !!!!!!) I did feel like a bit of a tourist;)

Decided I must do more of the above on a Friday after work. Busy weekend ahead. Wishing you all a peaceful one

    Great news, lionheartedgirl! Congratulations.

I've done a firewalk too, but the organiser of my event is no longer in the UK. It's the usual thing - if you believe you can, you're right, and if you believe you can't, you're also right. I did it one Hogmanay and it formed a great bridge into the New Year, as well as a fine celebration. Happy memories!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Moam - if you go for it I promise to come along and support you :)

Four flights this week and every single one of them had some kind of problem. I am shattered.

I also have another cold and inflamed throat.

After two weeks of calm with no decorating, I came back to the familiar chaos which got me down a bit, but upstairs is looking fantastic, so I have ignored it and will clear up enough this weekend for the cleaner to be able to deal with the rest on Tuesday as she has a free slot.

I also got back to find my updated fit note, which says no presenting ... I have three dates booked next week, with 5 presentations so I'm not quite sure what to do. Possibly send the note in after I've done the trip...

Glad you're feeling better MG... Hope all the other poorlies are too. It seems to be warmer here than when I left so hopefully that will help. If not, I'm seriously thinking of acting on my colleague's suggestion that I move to Rome for a few months. If I could find somewhere to stay at no/minimal cost it would be a realistic option.

    so envious reading that :o

I love water but there isn't much around here, and the only place I could find that kind of peace, would involve taking a day off work and leaving DS at nursery. He does not do peace and meditation by water

Talking of work....... crickett and all the other lovely ladies on here... the Universe has provided!

I have been quiet as so busy, have been promoted at work and am now in charge of my own department and on more money. I work 4 days instead of 2 now, and we are going to "discuss" school in September re hours, etc.

Thank you for your great advice Crickett and Firewalker.
