  • Good Evening Matrix folk!

Thank you so much for your thoughts and vibes yesterday. The interview went well. I am one of 14 who were long listed, and there are 3 jobs available and I have said they can assume I would apply for all of the roles, not just the one that I did. I should know by the end of the week whether I need to go for the second interview. I am trying to be very philosophical about it, and thinking that if it is meant to be, then it will be.

Unfortunately due to driving 363 miles and performing for the interview, and spending the whole afternoon pretending to be an expert witness and being cross examined by Law Students, I am knackered. So I am going to bed.

Love and hugs to all of you, and thank you again for all your good thoughts. Night!

Well done crickett - I know you will let us know as soon as you know anything ............... but that doesn't stop us feeling excited for you.

I'm going to leave DS1 in bed this morning - still hot enough to need calpol last night so another day off I think. Jury is out on flu, but his temp keeps running up and down.

So I think I will have a day with my tables and calculators - finalising the "recipe reduction" for my new "preserving project" - also got to call the carpenter again and clear teh decks for the books arriving.

But first - a HUGE!!!! pot of tea please

Thank you everyone for your help, friend passed tests yesterday and has interview today at 1pm. fingers and everything crossed for her.
  • Mmmmm! Met an old "business colleague" when out this morning - stirred up a lot of Grrrrrr!!! especially as his attitude was "now you are back on your feet can I sell you something and would you refer me to X"

No you b****y can't mate - you blew it when you disappeared like snow off a dyke when the poo hit - big AHA moment when I realised that I have moved on from a very unsuitable tribe.

Wonder if this means I am growing up?

I think we should have a MFinthree Pancake appreciation society - lobby the Govt to have a pancake day once a month:rotfl:

Fingers crossed - but I am off to experiment on how to make grape jelly as a present for an American friend who is a little homesick for a PB&J lunch.

    Hello peeps

Fab news Crickett - I shall keep all my things crossed for you.

Last night I was at the business club meeting - seeing as they know I am skintaroonies and I am their secretary then I get my meal for free and this year have my membership for free thus saving me £25 membership and £10 per meeting (once a month) fee. I had a very good feed last night roast turkey with all the trimmings followed by a choice of either chocolate gateau with pouring cream or fresh fruit salad with cream (I opted for the salad without the cream).

Whilst at the meeting, I had a chat with the solicitor who wanted to do my divorce for me to the tune of £3K, I was talking to her about the forms and asking why lawyers have to use flowery language..she offered to look over the forms for me for free before I re-submit them. Not sure if I will take her up on her offer or not because it means a drive over to the nether parts of Stourbridge.

I have been to see a friend with a view to changing my electricity and mobile for the abode I live in now and to have gas, leccy, telephone & broadband in my new abode. As I am interested in the business end of things too - I have been invited to an annual meeting at the end of March so I am going because my enquiring mind needs to know more.

Whilst waiting I nipped into Lidl and spent £9.99 on 24 cushelle toilet rolls which will keep me in loo rolls for a while (cheaper than anywhere else). Despite promising myself I would not buy anything else for the house - I bought 6 packets of seeds in Wilkinsons as they were 3 for 2 - the dearest packet was £1.28 and the cheapest was 54p. Then it was into C*sta for the foulest machiatto I have ever tasted - talk about bitter..thank goodness I only had a teeny cup. Wandered into P*undland too to see what they had got - they have shrubs for £1, seed potatoes, veg seeds and flower seeds...I did not buy anything in there although I was sorely tempted to buy a pink honeysuckle..I kept my money in my purse.

I've cracked the Grape jelly .............. in fact more than cracked it.

1 perfect pot of ruby jelliness - from a cup of grape juice a cup of sugar and some pectin.

Took two minutes to cook - easy easy - will write it up with piccies for the blog. I like being able just to make 1 jar of things.
