(at least as a non C of E you haven't been called on for anything more vital.I am Pagan and my SIL decided I should be Godparent to their daughter "confused smiley")
No dunking involved at a confirmation! Its a first communion - maybe dunking of biscuits in tea after???
Think greenbee got it right with what to buy as an appropriate gift.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

My (adult) friend is getting confirmed on Sunday, and has invited me (not exactly sure what it's about, but there we go - I will go though, because he's my friend), and my research has led to the discovery that this is usually done at the age of 12-14 and that presents should be given! (I'm not CofE, can you tell)
So... my question is, what on earth you do buy a 34 yr old male as a confirmation present?
Any ideas would be appreciated...
Fanx muchly xx
As an adult who was confirmed - no present is necessary really, being supportive of his decision by being present at the service will mean much much more. But a card is always nice!
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

oops - as a Pagan I am guessing I didn't realise there was a difference between baptism and confirmation! (I still stand by my "a couple of pints" thing though!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

"A couple of pints" is the solution to most issues I find, sometimes tea sometimes something different.
Had a meeting at DS1's school with Head and Ed Psych .................. well I have had more productive meetings. 30 minutes late going in and clock-watched the whole time - Meh!! I think I will collar the Pupil Liason Team at H/School tonight and start things moving from both ends.
Sorry to hear we are all having a CBA day on the same day - I wonder if we do other things at the same time too??? The mind boggles -still tomorrow, so they say, is another day.
Off to get ready for the open evening tonight

Clean sweep - you would never know there had been a shed and a midden in my garden. I think the chap must have used a pressure washer afterwards - it is looking fabsolutely fabby. I got home from work in time to (just) see it in the last remnants of daylight. A sight to gladden the heart.
And the other news is I have an interested party who would like to purchase - small matter of them selling their place which is not yet on the market.:rotfl::rotfl:
Encouraging nonetheless! Please send quick selling vibes their way too!!
I hope the open evening has gone as well as possible MG. So unprofessional of the primary school head and ed psych to clock watch and not give you and DS their undivided attention and energy - which is what they are getting paid for. I hope you have much better service at the HS.
Quiet evening tonight, and early bed I think. Woke early for meds and never got back to sleep, so my bed is singing siren songs to me.If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

. Working from home, started late, took a proper lunch break so I could take a dress back to M&S. 45 minute round trip (including 20 mins round trip walk so I didn't have to pay car park). Into shop, had forgotten purse & they wouldn't give me a gift card so came in a huff and spent another 1/2 hour on sofa with a book. Caught up with me though as I didn't finish working till 7

gallygirl... all I have done is my teleconferences. No work. A friend came to lunch, I've done some laundry and waved the hoover around.
I STILL have a paper that I need to get to reviewers tonight, and it really isn't working for me.
Anyone think wine might help? :beer:0 -

I have summoned up the energy to use my epilator then have a relaxing bath.

Yes! Raises glass of something to join in - I have magazine accounts to sort to year end and am feeling far too slug-like to do much. But audit date rapidly approaching, and I have an invoicing run to do - so suppose I'd best get a grip...(
