  • That looks so lovely hon - and I just a teensy bit jealous. My dream holidays are on their way - just the matter of 100 teeny challenges between here and there:D

Way to go Jc - in your honour I have hopped on the scales to check where I am one week in ................... 5lbs off :j.

But trust me I have quite a way to go but I have the bit between my teeth as I am desperate to turn my stash of 50p skirt bits into a grown up sexy wardrobe (thanks to some steering from Souk)

Hell I used to throw up sets in high heels - how come I now live in jeans and boots??? No way am I gonna get that dinner date wth Gabriel Byrne feeling / looking like this :DYes BoB he made it onto my goals for his year again:o

Off to be productive before my littlies come home

I am working on my Armageddon cupboard and had a delivery from AF yesterday. I soaked some dried soup mix (the stuff with split peas, lentils etc and put them in the slow cooker with chicken stock and a few chicken pieces. After 8 hours I blitzed it and have just eaten a bowl - Yum. BUT I have just reread the cooking instructions and it says about 'boiling vigorously for 10 minutes before simmering, Whicj I didn't do  Should I have done that or does it not matter if they are going in the slow cooker?? At least its only me who has eaten some so far.

I'm presuming you mean the Granose mix from AF?
I don't boil it first. It cooks for so long in the slow cooker that it is well cooked. The only problem would be the crunch of uncooked lentils. If I'm including beans, I sometimes put it in to soak with those - one thing less to do in the morning.

ETA : Well done FW DS - I didn't read back far enough!
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

I hope it was a positive revelation Lara.

I worked on my own all day today, and except one crisis which I couldn't do anything about, and I survived. It's been a great confidence boost for my new role, which I've been told could be starting any time soon.

LOL! It saves having 10 different ingredients in store - and no preservatives or nasties! :T:T:T

Gemmzie - my wardrobe has arrived :D

Won't be constructed and in place until Monday, but its going to be lovely :j:j I've got a big plastic storage box for the bottom (will probably be spare bedding, with shoes on top), a shelf and folding storage boxes for the top (for tights and underwear I'll keep just for work, plus tops that fold rather than hang, and maybe accessories I just use for work), and two hanging rails so I have some full length space, but most half height as it will be suit jackets with the trousers/skirt underneath, or shirts. And one door is a full length mirror, which hopefully I will remember to look in before I leave the house
