Perhaps, but I would do anything to keep my family happy and in good health. I have resisted making the order and will continue to do so, continuously thinking what i have to sell, how i can make so money. I'm sure ill come with a idea that'll make millions.:rotfl:would that be classed as fraud? if you sell goods on knowing you had no intention/couldnt pay for them?
hang in there your get there in the end.0 -
i dont think you would comitt fraud just for xmas gifts though. isnt worth it.bsc 347:j0

Sold a few bits today on Facebook, £50 to the BR fund! Yippee. Kids have been great but feeling the tension cause the purse strings are so tight. On a lighter note we had a ROSPA check today and received a new fire guard and stair gates FOC, even having them fitted. Got to go to hospital tomoz, for some extractions and some other procedure, no doubt will be feeling a lil rough for a day or so, at least I'm getting fixed. By updating the post daily I hope it will help someone else in the future, i don't mean to moan and groan but lives not all bad during BR.0

Kids are amazingly resilient and if you explain things to them and get them involved they can really help you cope.
Glad you're feeling more upbeat today and hope the next few days aren't too much of a trial. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

Ive followed your post and would like to give you my support.
However are you actually paying anyone now, because if you are , stop the payments and use that money to save for the BR.
Just ring the banks and stop all direct debits and standing orders.
And if your getting hassle ignore the calls and letters, if you have door stop loans tell the agent to go away and not come back.
If your not paying anyone a bean, going BR this week, or next or next year is not going to make much difference.
I found when the BR solution becomes appealing many panic re the costs etc, and try to steam ahead.
I would only dart into court to do it , if something was so pressing that it could make a difference to your life, ie something that could have a massive implication on your life today. Does that make sence. For example commital to prison for council tax arrears, seizure of goods from the property etc.
Not doing it today or in the next few weeks , will give you peace of mind to look forward to xmas and have everything in place so the BR works for you.
The reason people are saying do not use a catalogue is when the OR looks at the debts they look to see if there has been deliberate reckless spending when it was clear you had no funds to repay , the OR can then give a bankruptcy restriction order which put further limiations on your BR in the long term normally 2-15 years.
There is a web site linked to the OR service and if you put in some common names and search you get a idea of the cases that receive such, the most often case is often getting low level credit to purchase household items or passing over a asset to someone else like a car.
However i know people that got a door step loan from the likes of provident and used it fully to go BR within days of having it- im assuming the OR would poss be easier on that but i really dont know, the fees are a killer for most , because when your skint finding 700 pound is like looking for a needle in ahaystack.
Good luck and try not to panic with xmas looming, ring your support worker and see if they know of any charities that could help , also people like the local church/parish council and salvation army.if only life was a box of chocs0 -
thank you everyone, just outta hospital after a small op so still a little sedated, so excuse the gramma. In my desperate situation a few day ago i ordered a macbook (from the dreaded "catalogue") which i cancelled the following morning, however it turned up this morning. despite being cancelled..eek!! I'll just send it back and hopefully no damage done. We dont actually own a car but use the father in laws car on the condition we maintain, insure and tax it (its a 13 year old BMW) so not the most economic of cars but still thank full for it. Had a health visitor around today who is referring us to a family support worker, has anyone had any experience of these? I had a scratch card in a get well soon car today and won £2, more money to add to the pot. We're going out to get some shopping tomorrow for christmas and the 5 year old is seeing santa, although not feeling great I'm doing it for my girls, the smile are priceless and guess that scratch card will pay for it anyway. Well I'll off to bed, again sorry it i don't make sense but hopefully you get the grasp of things. Be back soon - Paul.0

Just FYI we had a great time today and was bought a DIY christmas cake from Tesco, we had a great time making it. Believe it cost £5 but was worth every penny, the children have gone to bed and its smelling fab on the cooling rack. Also had confirmation from co op ref bank account so hopefully I'll have things benefits transferred before christmas. We decided to use a small conifer as out christmas treat this year and paid £1 for lights from pound land, actually looks quite good (i'll get a pick up for a giggle), kids are happy with it.
On a slightly different note has anyone used the samaritans, feel like i need to unload some emotions and never been on this side before.0 -
Sounds like you've had a fab day Paul, good for you.
Give the Samaritans a call and have a chat, that's what they're there for and you can rattle on about anything you need to unload. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN
