Daily Thread for Monday 28th November.

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 28th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,
Another one here been up since 5am. BM and WM on. I'll strip and remake bed when DH gets up. Ironing and vacume to do today. I still haven't caught up on here. I did loads of xmas wrapping y/day and blitzed the kitchen and made DH a full roast beef dinner and did enough for him tonight. Must get out and shop this afternoon.
I heard from UOYPOOL y/day and she asked me to let you know that her Niece has recovered from the infection she had. She has managed 10 steps with the aid of crutches and is allowed off the ward in her wheelchair. Hopefully she should be allowed home sometime this week.
UOLYPOOL hasn't been able to spend much time with her as she has a nasty bug and has been in bed feeling quite poorly.
So lets send healing hugs to her and her family.
Off to catch up.0 -
Morning all
Lol, BB at being embarrassed, when I was buying the booze for my wedding, I was in Tesco at 6am & did get a few funny looks.
Good luck to FW's DD.
Well the car is thick with ice, but I have no need to scrape it as I'm walking this morning & hubby has already set off for the bus. DS will let me know later how much a new starter motor will cost & if it's worth it.
Tea for the next 4 nights is prepped & either in the fridge or freezer, tonight is steak & kidney.
Time I finished my cuppa & set off for work, it's only a mile & a half but it's up hill all the way.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning!
I had a hard weekend. Baby Roo was really quite Wednesday PM until Sunday afternoon. And for the last few weeks when Roo is quite I am really poorly! I tried to contact the hospital Saturday as I was worried, but the maternity information service is closed at the weekend. Anyway Roo is becomming more active now, and I am feeling better again. I am going to see my Dr this morning about it anyway because this is a pattern I don't like... and I want to be checked out by the maternity hospital... but need to know who to talk to!
Somehow the boys managed to get all my christmas decorations up of Saturday, so on Sunday (First Sunday of Advent) DS lit the first candle after church...!
Week 34 this week... and I GAINED 1.5lbs!!! I nearly fainted clear off the scales... I am so happy
Anyway, better get ready to get a Dr's Appt (I have to be at the surgery before they open the phone lines if I want an appointment with my Dr)!
Hope you all have a nice day xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Morning all,
Healing hugs to Uolypool and her niece.
FW good luck to your DD at her new school.
DS returned last night from his weekend away with a huge pile of washing so WM is on double time this morning.
Usual day at work, busy, busy, busy! and then DD1 has dancing and DD2 has netball (they won yesterday by the way).
Tea tonight is the remains of yesterdays HM curry, matter paneer, taarka dhal and chicken norma. i am taking some of it for my lunch as well so I will be all curried out by the end of the day!
Hugs to anyone that I have missed especially JackieG, Taplady and Lou.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Good Morning Chums ,Brrr its a frosty one at the moment .well I had a great time at DDs looking after the boys Katie was away for the week end with her fiancee so there was only the four lads and myself to sort out. They were really good and on saturday afternoon the boys cleared up all the toys and bits of paper that seem to flourish behind the sofa and Ben the eldest got the hoover out and did all through downstairs .Mikey the youngest went round with a duster and damp cloth cleaning everything he could find to clean bless him and the middle two carted all theri toys and bits up to their bedrooms. They live in a town house with three floors so I don't do a lot of stair climbing if I can help it.Mum was pleased when her and her OH came home last night at how well they had done.Today I am off on school run as usual then home for some more knitting.I also must sort out the freezer as its getting a lot emptier now that I have been 'shopping' from it this month .I want to defrost it if I can within the next few weeks.
Hope everyone has a good day even if it is Monday. No shopping for me today I am determined to get that freezer empied .Lots of fish in the bottom so looks like fish pie will be on the menu for a few nights this week
take care all

P.S changed my mind and nipped into Aldis to get some onions, celery, carrots and leeks but didn't spend very much as they were all on the offer0 -
Morning everyone
Sky a really strange colour as it's getting light, not sure what sort of weather today will bring - less blustery I hope! DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
DS1 had rugby training yesterday, so I took him then walked to A**i as bought the wrong size food bags when I did the shopping, had a nice look in there - prices as good as always. Couldn't believe how busy it was, got chatting to an elderly gentleman who's was saying just in the last 2-3 months how much busier it was, it was like a Saturday in there as soon as they opened the doors at 10am! Everyone trying to get the most for the money!
Back to work for me today, I'm opening so have to go a bit earlier, but should get away tonight a bit earlier. Only doing my normal working week until Wednesday then I'm off next week and not back until Dec 12th, by which time I will of course, be completely ready with everything done for X**s!?!? Yeah right!! :rotfl:
Bought a leg of lamb when I did shopping on Friday - we haven't had a lamb roast for months so thought it would make a nice change and it was on offer - still cost £14 though, outrageous price but managed to cook it beautifully so was delicious and there's enough left for another meal for all of us - tonight we'll be having LO meat cooked in a pot of gravy with mash and veg. Did succumb to a takeaway on Sat evening as cba to cook, and DH said yesterday I'm really not bothered whether we have takeaway anymore, as he didn't really enjoy it! Result - how long have I waited for him to say that!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Need to get organised for work.
Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.
