Help iphone 4s contract

I want a contract on the iphone 4s 32 gb. I am currently on Orange and they are pretty expensive.

I don't want too many minutes as i prefer internet.

What's the best contract deal. I heard 3 is rubbish so i am leaving them out.

So where else have you looked? As you know the deals are more or less the same, some people are too tight or too stupid to realise there is no such thing as a free phone, so unless you you are willing to purchase the handset outright and then take up a payg or sim only to suit your tariff, then you only have the option of the cartel rates.

So you think i should pay £600 for the handset and go on a sim only. I don't really want to spend £600 in one go.

What's the best contract deal besides 3 and TESCO.

This depends on how your define 'the best'.
It terms of the total cost £500 (£600) + sim-only is probably the best.

It does not matter what I think you should do, I do think it is rather chav nowadays the amount of people that have/want phones that can rarely afford them, if you want the handset, then the price does not matter, but as mentioned the cartel rate is pretty much the same, the difference between the lowest cost and most expensive is not worth masturbating over
You want the phone more than the network needs to sell it to you, remember that as if you don't buy it, someone else will.

You know that the usage of a phone over contract length negates the cost of it, especially when compared to buying a phone outright and paying the PAYG fees? Unless you're paying the extortionate price for an iPhone, at least.

Who said 'PAYG'?
It was proven many times that the total cost of iP bought outright and used with a sim-only contract (or PAYG giffgaff) is usually smaller than the cost of a similar contact with an iP. The hidden interest you pay for spreading the cost of the phone over the years is usually higher than many credit card companies charge.
Even Martin in his article says:

Signing up for a contract is by far the most cost-effective option for getting an iPhone 4S if you don't have the money to buy the phone directly from Apple.

The price of an iphone is not expensive, if buying it outright is prohibitive, then you have to question it's over all value to you, I don't have one as it does not suit my needs nothing to do with the price, I'm never interested in the 'free' handset there are other ways in life to feel special, and an iphone is not one of them

One advantage of buying an iPhone as part of a contract is that the whole thing is governed in law by the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, regardless of any clase in the network's contract that states that the goods and services are separate contracts. This is very useful when you experience technical problems, because the supplier of the services could blame the supplier of the goods or vice-versa. When the supplier is the same for both, you can't be sent round in circles in this way because there is an implied inter-dependence between the two. Take for example the scenario where an iPhone user is charged for excessive data that they didn't actually use (as was the case with many O2 iPhone users when roaming). If the supplier of the goods and the services is the same party, this is much easier to resolve because one supplier cannot blame another supplier.

In fact it is a little bit gray area and in practice networks usually deny that this is the case. As a result, it is easier only if you are prepared to jump through hoops and ultimately take the supplier to a court.
