If you watched Money pinchers last night, The man who scanned everything to check the stores/ prices, did he have a special machine or was it his mobile? Sorry if it seems a daft question but Im seventy and trying to save some money as well, thanks in advance,0
-
Hi there, yes it was his mobile. Mysupermarket.com has a scanner app you can use on your phone to scan items.0
-
Sorry to go off on a tangent but does anyone know if this is repeated? I thought I had recorded it but it's not on my TV planner! Would prefer to watch it on television than online.0
-
It was his mobile clearvisor, it looked to me like an iPhone but someone else said it was an android.
Did you know the app he was using was mysupermarket and you can use that online anyway...

Hope that helps x

As for the free lunch, she helped run that lunch every month I think, so probably felt that she was making a contribution that way. Whenever I have done charity events like this the helpers have never been expected to pay. Again she did say she couldn't do it if she worked full time & however much she saved on food I can't see it making the difference between a part time wage & a full time wage
With the road kill man & the couple with the little boy, I'd be worried about the cost of petrol used by looking for the roadkill & driving from supermarket to supermarket. The nearest supermarkets to me are 3 to 5 miles away & all in different directions.
We got married in June this year, we spent £400 on everthing & we had beer, wine & champagne, I made the food, bunting, my dress etc.

£3.50 per pop per n Vouchers.
Number of Vouchers needed
Work needed to get shopping down to right amount.
I often think Womens magazines have limited value. Good for Fashion and beauty and real life stories but beyond a limited utility too much money and too much of it a hyped up Marketing Exercise *just look at the sentences This Fitness Guru book £7.99 say you need to do*a
Lady so and so uses Creme de mer £300.
So whilst I think emailing for Vouchers (on false pretences?) is a worthwhile exercise, I question whether the purchase of numerous magazines for their Vouchers is a worthwhile exercise.
Therefore my strategy might me occasional womens magazine, get Vouchers, get vouchers from what you use and like (pity Tatler and Vogue don't do Vouchers) and get Vouchers on the off chance.
Use Vouchers by any means.
I bet MSE can have a nice little debate on Voucher Aqquistion balancing cost of the above with voucher value.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

I think we all agree the Wedding Couple was a great idea.
As for Roadkill. I would rather have proper fully fledged Butchery skills so at least if I did get safe meat on the free it would be properly hung with it's provence well and skillfully investigated. Perhaps Aristos Estates make fine hunting ground.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

Lakeside or the other big place would give her much more choice and maybe more ability to use coupons without incurring the watchful wrath of the Retailers. But on a smaller scale I think it might be more high risk and I fear Retailers clamping down on MSE Bargain Hunters, unjustly IMHO, to preserve profitablity and to usurp MSE schemes.
I think we are exploited enough and believe we should screw them back, now if that means a few honoured vouchers, preferably in my case using CHOICE my CHOSEN goods plus Vouchers = ridiculous amount off, then amen to that!#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

I was impressed by the budget wedding - as much as I love the idea of a big fancy do, the lady was right - it is only one day and its over very quickly, as long as the marriage behind it is solid. Think I would have to insist on booze at my wedding though - give the guests enough alcohol and they will have a cracking time anyway
I could not be bothered to pick up pheasant or rabbit (although I love it) - it is so cheap in the butcher and you have not got the hassle of plucking/gutting
I wonder how long those barcode scanning apps will be 'allowed' for, seeing as you can no longer take notes or pictures in Tesco
People are quite right saying that Tesco will now start turning the thumbscrews re:coupon usage (as if they weren't tight enough already!), although some v.rare SAs do still have the attitude of 'if it scans, we'll take it'
My local Mr. T has also cracked right down on wombling as well - they now ask to see the card the purchase was made with, so they can check it has the correct digits (pretty sure this isn't legal tbh, I refused so they would not scan my receipt )
Hester: I completely missed your June wedding as I haven't been on OS for ages - congratulations :j  :money:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Another barcode app is called Redlaser - I thought he used that one as well..?0

It only scans the major supermarkets though I think.
If you shop at Lidl or Aldi are the local veg market like I do, its not that useful sadly. If freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will have freedom.0
