100 pound overpayment made today (set up as a regular monthly payment now) and will also aim for more..

Ideally like to do 1600 for the year.

Welcome Yargo - great to see you here, especially with that very impressive signature - well done on all your hard work and what a brilliant decision you've made to OP!

I paid my normal payment of £219 today, reducing mortgage to £4,234. One more standard payment then I will be maxing OP's (£500) until mortgage balance is clear, sometime before year end.

I can't wait to be mortgage free again.

Good to see all the overpayment efforts. Keep it up everyone:j

    No 54...

Electric/Gas bill came in today, £80 instead of the £111 it was last month. Looks like the warmer weather combined with setting the timer each day as required for hot water has helped bring my gas bill down quite a bit. So another £25 OP made today, bringing the total to £500 overpaid for the year, quarter of my way to my 2012 target. :j

Went to the bank with my pennies, 5p, 10p, 20ps etc and it meant i managed to overpay £20 (with £4.20) pocket money for me too!

Going to be doing around 36 hours overtime in the month of April so hopefully when i get paid in May, alongside my bonus i'll have some exciting funds to play around with!

It'll all we worth it even though i do feel like i'm not really seeing the benefits at the moment. I'm only a year into my mortgage and impatient!!

Mortgage free by 40 is what i'm striving for!
    Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
    Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 2020

No update from me but, I think I'll be UNDERpaying this month (I have an offset mortgage account so all of my cash and savings etc are in the account to reduce my interest payments.) I decided I needed a holiday so I've taken a last-minute deal so that's a holiday, plus spendng money and all the other costs involved coming out of my account ths month all in one hit.

Oh well ... It is very much needed and I am ahead target wise so I should hopefully be able to absorb the costs in previous overpayments and over the next few months to bring me back on track :)

    Have a lovely easter everyone!

Very pleased with what I've managed to OP so far this year: £3353.40 #2.
£2500 of that is due to my parents, but even so!
I can't maintain this level but I'll do what I can!
    Please update my total.
    Thanks

    Hi all

No. 48 - I have just op'ed £700 For April bringing my total op for the year to £4210. Will update sig now.

Even better we have now dropped just below £60000 on the balance which is a nice physcological boost.

Unfortunately we desperately need to get the house re-wired so we are aiming to save for that by September which will impact our overpayments so umming & ahhing over changing my target this year. Maybe I will just wait & see how we do with trying to be more frugal.

    Happy Easter everyone

Aye, I know it's frustrating for you, but anything you overpay is great news. And unfortunately life goes on for others...

You will get there. Maybe not £12k this year, but £2.5k is doing really well, in addition to all the other expenses you have :T

    xx
