I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be away on holiday for the week from Sunday 1st April.

Please do still post your OP or fill in the googledoc as normal. I'm sure my fellow updaters will take up the slack while I'm away and I will update any left when I return.

I am getting everything ready to go now and so will be on and off the computer over today and tomorrow so apologies in advance for any delays.

I hope everyone has a great Easter.

    All the best,
    Spigs

  • Payday at last!! Having allocated enough money to pay for DS1&2 fees for the Trinity term, I have just made an OP of £2000 for this month.

Thanks for the continued inspiration from fellow MFWs.

    Hello peeps

Just arranged a payment of £1013. £13 from piggy bank. £1000 is from ISA. This particular ISA is earning 3% (and don't think I could get much better without fixing) and my Mortgage is going upto 3.99% on 1st May.

So it will be about Tuesday when I know the effect on my balance but it will be around £26620.

I did toy with the idea of using about £2500 from savings to take my balance under £25k (ie 24999) - and gazed at this scenario on my spreadsheet for about 5 days - but I was also looking at my saving balance forecast and although I think I would have been okay, I just wasn't brave enough. I like the security of savings way too much :o

    #144 - I think I am ready to go

    I have phoned my mortgage company and home owner loan and got the following figures;

Home Owner Loan: 10.67% interest rate - £56,292.82 owed
    Mortgage: 5.25% interest rate - 89,950 owed

Based on the above I am going to concentrate my energy and efforts on clearing the home owner loan. I am feeling slight overwhelmed by these figures but we have all got to start somewhere I guess. I have sent a tst payment of £1 and once this has cleared I will keep paying over to them.

    Here goes!

    #67 - Virtual sealed pot challenge £360/£300
    #64 - £2 coin Challenge £290/£300
    #89 - £365 in 365 days £365/£365
How much can you save £8932.49/£10000

    Welcome Viv!

Do you have a figure in mind that you want to over-pay this year? Have you worked out if you can make a regular OP from your monthly budget or are you going to OP what you can when you can? Just being nosey......;)
