I was going to get the AA through tcb (which would give me 50 back), but if they don't pay the 50, it's more expensive than going through my insurance. Decisions decisions......

I saved my Tesco Clubcard Vouchers and bought RAC cover for £48 instead of the £103 renewal quote (although I also paid £5 to send the vouchers off by the recommended special delivery). But I was quite pleased with that 'bargain'.

All updated for you coldcazzie, well done.

On the cash back question earlier, I use Quidco and have been with them for about two-three years or so now. So far I've had paid out about £770.

I don't do the full AA/RAC cover and only get the one that's about £28ish for the year. The last three have cost me year one AA £7 (£21 CB), year two RAC £8 (£21 CB) and this year AA £8 (£21 CB).

Some retailers are slower than others to pay and I doubt whether the cashback will come through from those who have or are struggling financially e.g Blacks. Only one company, a pet supplies company I've renamed zoominus, has given me the run around and I won't buy from them again. I made my first purchase in August last year and am still awaiting that payment. When I made a second purchase with them in October they immediately declined my claim even though I'd gone through the Quidco site. I have made innumerable purchases with M&S, Debenhams, Matalan, etc through Quidco and not once have they declined my claim. Can you tell I was cheesed off?!?!

Anyway the gist is I would recommend cashback sites as they can bring the cost down but do make sure you still adhere to the shopping around for a best deal rules too.

    Hope that helps,
    Spigs

I've been with Quidco for 4 years and 5 months and they've paid out £1,950 so far.
I use other cashback sites (topcashback, Greasy Palm etc) but I've had 100% payouts from Quidco, so I am happy to pay the £5 yearly fee.

No 28 reporting in for the end of the month. A few more OPs from cashback, ebay and expenses bring my final OP total for March to £1815.00 :DD:

I used to use quidco but switched to tcb - found better sevice and no fee. Everything I've ever done has eventually tracked through both sites but tcb have been (for me) better at dealing with any queries

    Thanks everyone.
Spiggle, you just made me shop around more - the idea of cover for £8 was too tempting, and though the cheaper offers don't work for me (I need home cover for my 18 year old banger!) I did find a much cheaper offer (£38), that didn't require the potential risk of the cash back sites, so I'm happy. And it means one smaller bill, so hopefully more off the mortgage at the end of the month!

Morning all . . . finally it's payday!! Just paid another £280 off the mortgage, bringing the March OP total to £500.

I think things will begin to slow down now :(

    Good morning ,

I've updated your March payment originator, bang on target!

Your OP is noted Needhelpsaving, a great total for the month.

From the googledoc, our first (I think) excellent April OP from waughc01 has been updated on the spreadsheet, brilliant!

    See you all later,
