Hello all,Hi, i only joined the challenge the other day. Just wanted to check how and when i'm supposed to post my overpayments? Do i have to lay it our or highlight it in a certain way? Spiggle...is there a particular layout which makes it easier for you to spot them, or are we supposed to PM you? just want to check before doing it:)
There are two ways challengers use ecoelle. Either post on here and state your OP, the month it's for and your MFW No. or you can use the googledoc form that's linked on the front page of the thread. I look forward to updating for you.
Ok updates, excellent OP rjlawler which is now on the spreadsheet. You are well ahead of your ytd, well done.
You're certainly going the right way to hit the £2k pavlovs_dog, your OP is updated for you.
From the googledoc, Lawbee your OP is updated, great regular steady progress.
Also on the googledoc, Needhelpsaving your March payment is updated, going great guns!
Between your two posts Lomcevak and Southernman you illustrate the truly money saving advantages of OPing. Excellent interest reductions for you both, well done. :T
See you all later,

It's payday today, and so I've made an OP of 1200. Less than I'd hoped, but I somewhat overextended myself last month (we've spent the weekend eating left overs/the contents of the freezer, as didn't have enough to go and buy and food
). I've got some significant bills coming up this month (car insurance, tv licence etc) and am planning on buying much of the equipment required for the bump this month. If there's any spare left over at the end of the month, I'll make next months a bigger payment.
Until then, I'm just trying to remind myself that there are some good months, and some less so, and the mortgage is moving in the right direction (if not at the speed I'd like!)MFiT T3 no 115, MFW 2015 no 65

A long overdue post from me.
Still plodding along but I have now decided to increase my regular OPs once my card and tax credit repayments are dealt with. So - if the money I used to pay debts with goes initially into savings pot - then into OP I'll be done by 2016.
Thats pretty ambitious but I'm coping just now - all I can do is keep at it!
It'll be a tough one as it leave me little room for manoever but I've not got any major outgoings left to face ( unless I hit another unexpacted disaster but then I'll hopefully have my savings bunce in place!)May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!
March 2019 - CC gone and bye bye M2 on 31st! £140k to go.:j0 -
Hiya,
That's a great March OP ironhide, all updated for you.
Excellent OP rockabelle, I know what you mean, I've had car tax, service, MOT and then insurance next month. But the important spends are for the 'bump'!
Nice to see you again downsizer3, it sounds like you have an good plan there. Good luck with it.
All the best,

:T What a bargain - superb :T. Adds a touch of smugness to make the holiday even more enjoyable :rotfl:. Just shows what can be done with a bit of research - where would we be without the internet? How are you getting about in Italy?
Well it was booked through STA travel who specialise in student/youth travel (i'm 22) and they offered us a train pass for 3 days in a month. This means that i can travel from Rome to Florence then from Florence to Venice a few days later, plus we will take a day trip to Pisa making up our 3 days! I'm very excited and it does help that my friend is fluent in Italian!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

Hi, I would like to scale our OPs back for this year. Not that we won't be making them, but that Santader require them to be over £500 and with everything else that's going on this year, by the time we've saved up that much it'll be past October when we plan to remortgage with someone else.
My plan at this point is to continue making our monthly OPs as we have been, but not make any additional ones until next year when we have fewer additional things to save for/spend on.
Pita, but I was being a bit unrealistic. You never know, come September, once all the expensive things have passed, we might be able to OP quite a lot! (relatively speaking) Anyway, I'd like to lower my target from £1500 to £1000 if that's ok.Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.
MFW 2020: 1 Jan £92903.90 ~ OP £536.80/£500
MFW 2021: 1 Jan £89281.21 ~ OP £404.62/£500
MFW 2022: 1 Jan £85579.20 ~ OPs on hold.0 -
