    Hi, Spiggle

Glad you had a nice break. It didn't seem that you were away 5 minutes...why are holiday days shorter than working days?

I'd like to declare an additional £355 op for April, please. This is the interest on my ISA account...a nice surprise as I'd forgotten all about interest...:j

This makes a total op of £1465 for April. I'm very happy with that.

    many thanks

    LB xx

Updated my diary today. I managed an extra £50 for April overpayment. Quite chuffed with that. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/52383893#Comment_52383893

    Good morning all,

Yes, thanks unhappy_shopper, we did enjoy the break. I've updated your OP and you are still ahead of target and looking great for the year.

Your great OP is listed TwinnyD and you're not far off reaching your target and we're only four months in, well done!

The week does seem to have gone quickly now we're home LavenderBees but didn't notice it flying by while we were there to be honest. Luckily we're both off this week too so enjoying getting everything here organised and hope to get a bit of gardening done later too. What a brilliant surprise with the interest! Your extra OP is now listed and you're still going great guns!

ViHan I've updated your OP and noted it all for March as that's what you'd put on the googledoc and I didn't have a March OP listed. If this is incorrect (you say April in your post above) please let me know and I'll amend it.

Right off to see what to do around here now.

    See you all later,
    Spigs

I have no idea where I originally found this information, but a year or so ago I found that a Terraced House is built using an average of 5000 bricks (or according to some random google search result ;)). To be honest that sounds low to me but who cares.

My original mortgage value / Average no. of bricks = Average price of each brick

My original mortgage value - My current mortgage value = What I've paid off so far

What I've paid off so far / Average price of each brick = How many bricks I own

(How many bricks I own / Average No. of Bricks ) x 100 = The % of my physical house that I own

I own 52.97% of my own home

Am sure there are more accurate ways of working this out or perhaps some people are more interested in current market value - but hey, this is just for fun :D

Hi everyone. We remortgaged to a lower rate this month - 3.19% down to 2.59% However, to ensure we were offered mortgage as affordability was tight (maternity leave) we extended the term.

Based on original term though and what the mortgage would be on new rate based on that we have kept original payment the same. We are automatically OP £61.12 a month so could this be added on for me from May onwards please?

(we are actually OPing £206 but only the £61.12 is genuine!!)

I'm still trying to find some cash to OP for April!
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!

    120,000 / 5000 = Each brick costs £24
    120,000 - 105,000 = So far i've paid off £15,000
    £15,000 / £24 = i own 625 bricks
    (625/5000)x100 = i own 12.5%
As my house has 8 rooms (stairs anad landing count as 1)
i own 1 room of my house:)

    Hey Spigs

I have now OP'd a total of £1203.00 for April.

I had submitted the first OP by googledocs but have since OP'd more. Would you be so kind as to update my entry :)

My latest OP was actually my May budgeted OP - I was able to pay it in advance because by the magic of spreadsheet accounting I could tell that for the rest of the month I would be carrying enough in my CA

Balance is now £26390.52 instead of £40969.65 (Estimated balance had I not been over-paying)

My Standard Monthly Payment is in the process of being recalculated as my interest rate rises next month from 3.5% to 3.99%. I estimate that due to OP'ing my SMP will actually go down by £48. If I'd not been OP'ing then it would actually be going up by around £10.00. Of course when my SMP does go down I will just increase the amount I OP by
