    Hi Spiggle,

Long time with no update, sorry about that! All in all, my overpayments/offset savings come to £17400 so I have smashed my target of £15k (this doesn't include my capital repayments which have further reduced my mortgage). I should be grateful if you would update my entry on the spreadsheet when you have a moment.

    Cheers

Just written out a cheque for December's overpayment of £499 so that's it for 2012 (where the heck did it go!?) and a total of £3344 overpaid for the year. That's well short of my original goal, and a miss for my revised-downwards £4k target too, but after a good start the plans went on pause for 5 months while paying for building work so i'm not that disappointed really. Total mortgage outstanding dropped by £9866.16 this year, just missing my £10k target.

With £186k outstanding the overpayments do feel a bit like lobbing a bucket of water at a forest fire though, my spreadsheet suggests they've knocked a grand total of about 30p a day off my interest bill which is a bit depressing. I need to find a way of taking a longer-term view of the effects which might be a bit more positive.

I signed up for this and then never found it again until a email this morning. Not sure what I said my target was but £3500 is my op this year.

Edited I was no 108 with a target of £6000 so not great but over half and DH has only ad 3 months work this year.

I just found out how to see all my old posts ;-)

    Hello everyone,

I'm really pleased to see the start of month business on here. ETA: I've taken the Vacant lines out completely now so that the percentages are more accurate.

I couldn't agree more wwith you black taxi, and I meant to wish you luck with it all kandfs mam.

Excellent OP rockabelle and baby teething is as good a reason as any to be distracted by! Here's a link to the MFiT-T3 challenge for [STRIKE]if [/STRIKE] when you get a minute. :D Post No.4 of the linked thread has all the registration forms and the challenge begins in January for three years.

And another target bites the dust, brilliant ecoelle! :T

A great OP for November ajmoney, all updated for you as is your first OP of December.

Lovely OP sweetdaisy, recorded on the spreadsheet for you.

No probs icklehelen, I enjoyed the puzzle and solving it!

Smashing OP muddywhitechicken and I hope you're enjoying the weekend too.

Fantastic OP theyorkbrood, congratulations on smashing your second target of the year. :T

Hi Lixi, what wonderful OPs you've made and they have all now been updated on the spreadsheet. Congratulations for busting your target so convincingly. :T

The year has flown by Lomcevak! Sometimes we have to readjust our priorities and I'm sure the building work will be an equally long term investment as your super OPs have been. Everything you OP is worth the effort just it's much harder to see it with a 'young' mortgage, you really will see the benefits further along the 'life' of your mortgage.

Good to see you Mint1955! This has been a tough year for so many and with so little work for your OH you have done brilliantly to OP so much, well done. All your OPs are now updated. I hope 2013 will be a better year for you.

From the googledoc, your excellent OP is updated mother shipton.

Your brill OP is also updated Southernman, further crumbling your second target.

And jaywhoopee your wonderful December OP is updated. Congratulations on ensuring £1k of capital was paid off every month of 2012.

That's all folks, see you tomorrow,
    Spigs

Good morning all - first working day of the month and I've been moving money about and playing with my spreadsheet.
#30 OP £408.40 to start the month and bring the mortgage down to a lovely round number.
As the majority of the christmas shopping has been done, I am hopeful that I can throw something else at it by the end of the month.
    Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000
    Current mortgage  £28,000
