Someone keeps parking on the pavement

They do that here too, I am constantly having to wheel my shopping out in traffic to get past them, it annoys me still, but a little less so now that it is my shopping and not my baby I am having to push round cars on the pavement.
The police traffic warden can issue a ticket for obstruction, but they never do, not here. I stopped a PA the other day and asked if the warden was about and he told me there was no such thing as a police traffic warden....
I'm destined to have to keep walking round them. I often wish I could just key it, but I'm not that kind of person...I wish I was though, I'd like to, but I won't - and that's why they keep parking there. What really, really annoys me is that they park there to go to the pub - which has it's own car park."There is no substitute for time."

This is why keys are sharp. I have a 7 week old daughter, and woe betide anyone that parks leaving not enough room to squeeze the pushchair past on the pavement.0

Driving on a footway (or pavement) is an offence under section 72 of the Highways Act 1835 and is also prohibited by rule 145 of the Highway Code. Obstructing any public highway is also an offence under section 137 of the Highways Act 1980. Both issues could be enforced by the Police, but sadly they do not see this as a significant concern (blaming excessive paperwork no doubt). In Oxfordshire the Police pass the buck to the Local Authority, who then (quite rightly) say it is a Police matter.
What annoys me is the kerb stones he is bumping up will eventually come loose and need to be replaced at our expense. Sometimes the pavement will even start to break up too (they are designed to take the weight of a person, not a 4x4) and this will cost a good few £s to repair, only for him to go and damage it again.
I can't help think that a chat with a PCSO would help matters like this. I asked for a PCSO to speak to an owner of a car near me who parks fully on the pavement and has started to break up the tactile paving she drives across 4 times a day. A reminder of the law and pointing out that her empty parking space is literally 5 seconds walk round the back of her property I am sure would do the trick. Sadly even a PCSO didn't believe this was worthwhile. So I continue to struggle with my wheelie bin up the middle of the road, along with local mothers with prams, the elderly, partially sighted people and the disabled.0 -
round the corner from where I live (in a residential area in a small town). I have reported the car twice to police. The car is always parked after dark with all four wheels on the pavement and totally blocking access for pedestrians, so I have to walk out into the road to get past, which makes me indignant. The police don't do anything other than calling me back to claim that they tried calling the number the car is registered to, but they couldn't get through to the owner.
The car is now there AGAIN! I've just been forced to walk out into the road again when walking my dog.
Why should the person be allowed to get away with this? Shouldn't the car be clamped and towed away? If it were parked like that in the middle of a city, it wouldn't last five minutes. Why should it be any different just because it's a small town?
I know...I know...it's a minor thing to get annoyed about, really, isn't it?:o But they're breaking the law!
If they are totally blocking the footway causing pedestrians to have to walk into the carriageway then they are causing an obstruction on the highway, which is an offence.
Phone the police and ask them to tow the vehicle away!!DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

The highway isn't being blocked. It is the footpath or footway (both have separate definitions in the highways act) that is blocked.DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

Does the car have an alarm? Can you bounce it suffficiently to set the alarm off everytime you walk the dogs? They might get the message...0

Just stab all 4 tyres each time it is parked there. It soon won't be.0

It is a motoring offence so yes, it is a crime.
As an aside, take a photo and upload it to http://goo.gl/TLbgg and on the windscreen in white marker write "You park like a !!!!" and accidentally scrape the hell out of it with your bike pedals as you push your bike past the car..0 -

It's not a recordable crime and won't affect their statistics in a negative way. Unlike the criminal damage you suggest.0
