    Evening all,

    So Friday went well and my leaving gift was £100, wine & chocolate - absolutely delighted. I'm going to put some of it into savings and the rest is mine:D.

    Tomorrow is my first day in my new job _pale_. I'm sort of ok about it but every now and again I think "bloody hell". It will be fine but I want to get settled into my new desk and get all the introductions out of the way.

    I might be getting a pup:), my OH's sister's dog has a litter of pups and she has offered me one. I thought why not - we live in the country and there would usually be someone in the house all the time.

    Morning all,

    I've survived 2 days in my new job:). I'm in a small room with only 3 other people which is strange as I've always worked open plan with tons of people. The building is quite old and I'm on the 6th floor which means that the wind has been howling - it might take me a few days to get used to it.

    I'm pretty sure that I can get my head round the work once it makes sense to me. Yesterday I thought it had started to click but by the afternoon it had unclicked itself and I was left confuddled:o.

    I've already made coffee plans for a few days next week and I was able to go for a lovely walk during my lunch.

    Money front - going well, my savings are slowly starting to creep up. I have my holiday paid for and my spending money set aside for my holiday on the 17th so I'm hoping that I don't need as much money for the rest of the month. OH wants us to go on holiday in Sept but I'm hoping it is somewhere not too far away or expensive as the Aug holiday is the main holiday for me.

    Eating front - I had a bit of a mini blip on Monday but I knew that it could be a wobbly day as I would be nervous before my first day in work. I survived and am now back on an even keel.

    I have 101 things to do today -

    • [STRIKE]print letter to send money for running club (not my money[/STRIKE])
    • [STRIKE]find national insurance number (work[/STRIKE])
    • [STRIKE]plan menus for next few days[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]iron[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]buy birthday card for niece and post it as birthday is tomorrow[/STRIKE] :o
    • [STRIKE]get photo taken for paper (work thing)[/STRIKE].

    Morning :hello:

    It's Friday ...phew. I think I've managed not to embarrass myself in my first week.

    I spent a very boring morning yesterday getting my photo taken but thankfully it was a group photo. I think the photographer has aspirations for fleet street but in reality its only a local paper. I didn't mind the first few pictures but how many group shots do you really need.

    I contacted a local Zumba teacher and hopefully in Sept I'm going to give that a go. I was goin to get up a wee bit early and go for a run this morning but my bed was too comfy. I will go for a run tomorrow and test out my knee and then I will hopefully start running in the mornings from now on. I used to find that so relaxing but because of where my previous job was it just wasn't possible.

    Tomorrow I need to clean out my car and wash it as I'm taking my sister and her friends to a wedding do. I'm also goin out for lunch and I'm driving.

    Morning all

    I have my nephews staying with me for a few days so am attempting to tip toe round the house but in reality am sounding like a baby elephant:).

    Only 4 more sleeps until we all go on holiday and I've heard they have an amazing thing in the sky called the sun - I knew it had to be somewhere because it hasn't shown its face much in N Ireland:). I have about £370 in euros (£250 sterling + some left over euros from before) and I'm only counting spends if I go over that - I would be really disappointed if that wasn't enough.

    I saw my counsellor on Tuesday and it was fine but I've been feeling a bit off these last few days. I'm hoping I can settle myself today but I've already got an anxious feeling which isn't a good start to the day. I reckon if I start my day with a comforting bowl of porridge it might help.

    My computer has been updated to Windows 10 and it's taking me a minute to figure out its new lovely workings.

    Money front - I've not been too bad this last wee while. I am going to the pet shop on Sat so I expect to spend a fair bit as I need a cage, dog bed, lead and heaven knows what other bits and bobs for the active puppy about town (still don't have a name for him). I'm also going to resurrect my Weekly spend updates on my thread to keep the budget under control. I've been tweaking my YNAB - & from next month will set aside 10% of salary to paying my credit card debt & 10% to long term investment. I put about 40% of my salary into savings but most of that I can get my hands on when I need it which is a bit too tempting:o. So less plans and more action.

    Weekly spend - starting Thurs 13th Aug

    • Thurs - NSD
    • Fri -£?
    Total = £

    Morning all

    I managed an NSD yesterday - some months they are harder to come by than others.

    I popped round to my cousins last night and got to play with my new pup and her 5 siblings :) - that has to be the best medicine in the world.

    My new boss has gone sick so I was at a bit of a loose end yesterday and probably today. It will be different once I'm back from holiday but at the moment it's a bit of a long day. Yesterday in work I wrote a "what to pack list" which seems to keep getting longer:o.

    Eating front - I've been quite hungry this week so trying to fill myself up more and am going to speak to a nutritionist for a bit of advice.

    Money front - my current account and my YNAB account are a bit out of sync. YNAB says I have £183 more than is in my my account. It's too early to figure out what I'm reading wrong as I know I'm pretty on top of inputting figures into YNAB so it's a bit confusing. Hopefully I can figure it out with more coffee. It would have been nice if the current account was more than YNAB:).

    Plans today - work & meet friend for coffee.

    Lots of plans tomorrow -

    • shopping for pet bits and bobs
    • shopping (bin) - believe it or not work doesn't supply bins as we have to use communal bins but you need something to put rubbish in until you take it to the communal bin.
    • weeding
    • sorting out holiday clothes.

    Evening world,

    I've almost solved the mystery of the £183 discrepancy. I had £41.50 in my purse and £100 from my work gift sitting in an envelope so I just need to find £41.50 - not as scary as I had thought.

    So today was a bit spendy as you often can't plan for things. My Uncle passed away last night but I haven't seen him in about 20 years. I've kept in touch with his children via facebook. I ordered a bunch of flowers from my Mum and myself and I know that even though she says she will pay half I will pay it all. I have also booked to go to Amsterdam in Oct with a friend so I paid my share of the hotel - £153.50 today. Very spendy day indeed but I wasn't frittering which I'm pleased about.

    Weekly spend - starting Thurs 13th Aug
    • Thurs - NSD
    • Fri -£153.50 accommodation + £35.98 flowers
    Total = £189.48

    Hi all

    Today has been so busy but good :)

    • [STRIKE]shopping for pet bits and bobs[/STRIKE] - £25 spent.
    • [STRIKE]weeding[/STRIKE] - finished 2 minutes before another massive downpour.
    • [STRIKE]sorting out holiday clothes[/STRIKE] - done. I also ironed some work clothes and took up a hem on my trousers - go me:)
    • Went for a short run
    • quick shop at tescos & paid money into bank.
    • cleaned and hoovered 2 bedrooms.
    I don't know where I got the energy from today but then I had a bit of a tummy flare up. I had a colonoscopy (not nice) last year as I kept having flare ups and it showed up that I had inflammation in my bowel and they took a biopsy. Fortunately it didn't show up anything bad however it didn't diagnose what the problem was. Anyway I had my final hospital appointment last week and they signed me off because I haven't had a flare up in months and months. Typical, I had a massive flare up today and am now drinking weak tea waiting for it to pass:).

    Ok I'm all set for my pup to come when I get back from holiday. I'm lucky I can get a cage etc from my sister which she doesn't use anymore but today I got a bed, bowls, blanket and a lead for £25 which I thought wasn't bad. I think I just need to get him a licence, chipped, insurance and registered with the vets but these don't have to be done immediately.

    Weekly spend - starting Thurs 13th Aug
    • Thurs - NSD
    • Fri -£153.50 accommodation + £35.98 flowers
    • Sat - £18.28 (Tesco) + £5.69 (medicine) + £25 pet supplies.
    Total = £238.45

    Hi all

    I go on holidays tomorrow and I'm still not packed but it is all piled on my bed:). I'm hoping it will all jump magically into my suitcase. My sister was up visiting today with her nail kit so she has us all primped and ready to go.

    My sister and her partner have been researching restaurants etc and my Mum and nephews are very excited:D .

    I managed an NSD today and I got some money of OH for his tablets. If I looked at the total spends this week I would be worried but then I know what it was spent on and I can see that none of it was frittered.

    If I go over my euros then I will count that as spends this week but if I stick within my euros then I will have lots of NSDs as I've saved and budgeted for my holidays.

    Weekly spend - starting Thurs 13th Aug
    • Thurs - NSD
    • Fri -£153.50 accommodation + £35.98 flowers
    • Sat - £18.28 (Tesco) + £5.69 (medicine) + £25 pet supplies.
    • Sun NSD & + £6.00 from OH
    Total = £232.45

    Morning all,

    I wasn't going to update today as I am going away but I don't need to leave for the airport until 4 and I have a ton of things to do before then so a wee diary list should spur me into action -
    • 1 mile run
    • iron & pack
    • take Mum to shops.
    • clean kitchen
    • clean living room
    • hoover hall.
    Am I the only one who likes to return to a nice clean house??

    Weekly spend - w/c 17th August.

    Mon - £

    Total = £
