    Evening :)

So today turned out to be much more productive than I had planned. I went for my run, did the banking and now have chilli on for tonights tea. I managed to strim the lane, I am so lucky to live in the country but when your lane is the length of a field it does get a bit daunting.

I still have the hedge to cut but the hedge cutter is currently in pieces while OH figures out if he can do CPR on it:o.

OH has to take his car in for it's MOT tonight and it would be a miracle if it passed but saying lots of little prayers just in case.

I booked a family holiday in August:D (part of cc debt:o) and now another sister who wasn't for going is making noises that she would like to come. It would be fantastic if she came and then it could be a proper family holiday minus my brothers but that is still pretty good.

So plans tonight - not much and that is the way I like it:)

    Evening all

I've been hanging round diaryland a good part of today to get some motivation and I've joined a few challenges. I've also been avoiding tv so that I can watch the grand prix highlights without knowing the results:).

I haven't done very much today but I'm not complaining. OH's car passed its MOT last night - phew.

Now that I've had my 2nd LBM I kind of want rid of the credit card debt now but that isn't feasible unless I starve myself and sell everything I own. I'm just going to divide it into manageable chunks so the plan is -

    Start - June 2015- £2750 - £1000 (Xmas 2015) - £1750 = DFD Oct 2016.

I've been trying to get through to Sky online today as my contract runs out with them on 20 June so I'm going to cancel TV and just use the freesat box.

    Afternoon all:)

Today has been good on the money saving front - I finally managed to get through to Sky on the internet. However, they rang me when I typed the word cancel:). I hate talking to these peeps on the phone as I end up agreeing to something I didn't want but the guy was nice. We negotiated but I stuck to my guns so I'm cancelling Sky tv and I would automatically get freesat which is enough for us. I'm also getting free broadband for a year, so my bill has gone from £50 odd pounds to £16.50 + calls so that should be max £20:D.

I met my sister for a run in our local forest and it was great. We ran a slow pace but chatted all the way round and did 3 miles without feeling like death warmed up. It made me feel really motivated and positive.

I know with me I have ups and downs but I'm on an up today and it is great.

    Morning world

I've been awake for ages but I just can't get motivated however that wont pay the bills:).

I managed another NSD yesterday by simply not going near the shops. I keep reminding myself that I really don't need anything and I really need to clear my debt.

ED front - I have changed my mindset on exercise and its hard to get motivated again. I love running and will do a short distance tonight but during ED exercise was about cutting calories. Since really embracing recovery (with all its blips) I've realised that a lot of the things i did (circuits, spin etc) I didn't enjoy. I've quit all that and am just doing some running - but for my health I need to work out what I enjoy.

I'm in work today and then at meetings out of the office tomorrow and then I'm using flexi to have Fri & Tues leave so it will be a super long weekend:)

Hun, that's incredibly powerful - that you have such self-awareness, to know that you, deep down, didn't enjoy an activity. I realise that it would be awfully helpful if the *enjoyable exercise option* would make itself known pdq! But still, to realise that there is no point wasting your time on the circuits and spin is brilliant. BRAVO! :T

I know that I don't like 'formal' exercise - you won't find me in a gym :o But I love walking - *everyday* walking, or yomping across moors *leisure* walking, but I don't much like cycling on roads - say to pop to the shops (I'd rather walk), but I love cycling for *leisure* on forest tracks, cycle trails etc - doesn't mean to say that hills aren't involved, I just get more from being in natural surroundings - rather than surrounded by tarmac, I suppose.

So what plans have you for your longer-than-normal weekend? :D

    *NoseyParker* aka Greying x :D
Pounds for Panes £7,305/£10,000 - start date Dec 2023

    Grocery Spend August 2025 £182.09/£300
    Non-food spend August 2025 £15.55/£50
    Bulk Fund August 2025 £0/£10

    Thanks Greying

It has been a real surprise how many things I did that were guided by ED and not by me, not just exercise but so many other things. I hate the gym with a passion. I know that I love running and I'm experimenting with other things to see how they fit. I'm not much of a walker if I can run but my running speed probably isn't much faster than your walking. I also love yomping in the countryside, OH & I would pack a lunch and tea and go up the Mourne mountains at the weekend and the best part was having our tea looking out across the Mournes but we haven't done it in ages as the final part of my recovery was to stop everything and also OH had hurt his knee. I think I'm also going to give swimming ago but again I know I love swimming in the sea on holidays but our local pool doesn't quite have the same feeling:) and I don't think it would be very MSE to take off to Spain each weekend. Swimming at home is a no no - I remember Billy Connolly talking about his holidays and the children ran into the sea where North sea oil workers wore survival suits because of the temperature:D.

Ok plans for the long weekend - tomorrow sleeping and cleaning but we have tickets for the Ulster orchestra on Sat night. Neither of us are classical musical buffs but every now and then we decide to get a bit of culture:D. You have put the notion of a hike in my head now and that will be Sunday (weather permitting).

I have a meeting today and I should hopefully find out more about my escape plans. I also get to pootle about the house a wee bit as I don't need to be there until 10. I think we are going out for lunch so that will stop the NSD streak but then I have money set aside for lunch so I think it could be classed as an NSD.....not sure.

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all,

I'm confessing to being an idiot this morning:o. I use YNAB to budget and I did think I was a bit short of money in May but I stuck to my budgets and survived. Last month on YNAB I moved a few things around and changed names to make it clearer to me where my money was going but what I only realised this morning was that I had hidden a category with £250 in it. I basically have been down that money all month which I could have put to debt. On the good side it is obvious I can manage on less so I'm increasing my credit card repayment and hopefully should have it cleared by May 2016 if not before.

I love the first day of the month so I can get my hands on the budget - sad I know:D.

So we went to the Ulster hall and the concert was fantastic, we spent £5 in the Hall and £7.50 on parking and that was the spends for the evening. I spent Saturday cutting my super long hedge and yesterday I didn't venture out for a hike as it was wet and miserable. I think we are heading up to Belfast in a bit as OH wants to get safety boots for work. So today is not going to particularly productive but at least I'm not at work.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Hi again

OH has some men in working on the plumbing so I'm in the kitchen keeping out of the way.

I've been looking at the budgets and I would so love to have lots of money put aside for a rainy day but hey ho hopefully that will be something I can aim towards at the end of the year. Until then I'm going to start recording spends on my diary & see if that can help reduce the outgoings.

    Planned spends w/c 01st June.

    Mon - NSD
    Tues - £20 beauticians
    Wed - £25 hairdressers
    Thurs - NSD
    Fri - £40 dinner & taxi
    Sat - £80 wedding
    Sun - £20 wedding.

    Total = £185

This week is going to be a spendy week as I'm catching a flight to Scotland for a good friends wedding on Friday. I have money set aside for the wedding and if I don't go over the total above then it counts as an NSD because I stayed within budget.

I don't have any other big things in June that I'm aware of so I will hopefully make some savings this month.

    Morning all,

I'm up early as usual but I was printing off boarding cards, car parking receipt and hotel accommodation. I'm in work tomorrow and will be basically sprinting out the door to the airport so trying to get as much sorted this morning and tonight. Once I'm packed I can relax and start looking forward to the weekend.

I've thrown some extra money at my credit card - I didn't mean to but I mixed up the direct debits:o. I'm not complaining as it will mean I clear my card quicker but it cuts into my emergency budget.

    Spends w/c 01st June.

    Mon - NSD
    Tues - £20 beauticians - £34
    Wed - NSD
    Thurs -
    £25 hairdressers
    Fri - £40 dinner & taxi
    Sat - £80 wedding
    Sun - £20 wedding.

    Total = £185

I think the site is a bit tired today as I keep getting timed out messages today.

    Morning

I got my haircut yesterday and with curly hair once it gets cut it goes into shock and I now have a whinbush on my head:). Hopefully it will calm down by tomorrow.

I have to pop to the shops this morning to get deodorant and biscuits for the work tea club. I should finish about 3 and then I need to remember everything for my flight to Scotland. Starting to get excited now:)

    Spends w/c 01st June.

    Wed - NSD
    Thurs -
