Hi all
I'm home. I had a lovely time but it didn't go according to plan. I sprained my ankle on the Monday before we flew and we were catching an evening flight. It was agony and I also couldn't believe that I had done it. I put ice on it and did all the correct things and then hobbled onto plane. Thankfully it didn't ruin my holiday. It was the first time I've been away with my family and it was great.
This is only a quick update as I'm shattered.

Morning all
Holiday was fantastic and the weather was perfect. It was nice that my nephews had each other to play with and the hotel had some good entertainment and mini disco to keep them entertained. The boys want to go back next year and the only way the holiday would be improved for them would be to go for longer:).
Money front - I stayed within budget- ok I have about 5 euros left but I'm still within budget. I paid for the holiday on my credit card when I got to the hotel (sister & partner had given me the money) but I was charged £26.01 for using my card abroad:mad:.
Eating front - oh my body has had enough. Because I was limited in my hobbling I went along with whatever was handy and mostly ate junk:o. I feel it now as I feel bloated and horrible but it was only a week and I was on holiday. I need to drink a lot of water and get back on track. I had a phonecall from a nutritionist while I was away so I will phone her tomorrow.
Plans today - tidy up and get ready for sister to visit tomorrow. I don't have much left in my budgets but I only have to make it to the end of the week. I'm a bit limited still on movement as my foot still aches and is still swollen with quite an impressive colour:o.
I have to pop to shops as the cupboards are very bare and I need to do a shopping list and stick to it.
Weekly spend - w/c 17th August.
Mon - Sat - 6 NSDs (on holiday)

Total = £
I'm also going to start an end of month review as I have a habit of changing my signature so at the end of each month I will do an update where I can look back and will hopefully see the debt going down and savings going up. I'm updating early this month as I know it will not change by next weekend.
End of month review
- Credit Card debt + £2170
- Save everything - £300
- Xmas savings - £420

Hi all,
Wee bit spendy today but we had nothing fresh in cupboards and I bought nappies and baby food for my sisters visit tomorrow.
After Sainsb I popped round to my cousins for a bit and then my sister and husband visited me and the afternoon was spent doing very little. I think we were all a bit tired from the holiday. I am defrosting the fridge so at least I'm doing something.
I'm going to pick up my sister at the airport tomorrow and I'm pretty sure we will have a few spendy days while she is here but I'm not going to worry about it as I would rather have the good memories and live on porridge in Sept:)
Weekly spend - w/c 17th August.
Mon - Sat - 6 NSDs (on holiday)
Sun - £65.29 Sainsb

Loving your attitude. Sufferin suckataz - I just wrote a long post and then my computer restarted:(.
Thanks INOD - yup I have a habit of being too restrictive in the saving and then splurging and I can miss out in the fun part of life. It's good to remember that we need a balance in our lives.
On Tuesday I had fun:) - my sisters, kids and partners all went to the beach and to the amusement arcade. The weather was a perfect Irish summer's day - rain, cloudy and windy but that didn't stop us. Once we had taken the nieces and nephews out of the water and warmed them up we went to the arcade. I remember as a child it was such a treat and now as an adult I think it's too loud and packed. Unfortunately 2 of my nephews were too wee to fit on most of the rides. I went on a ride and had a ball. We then went for lunch and had ice creams (well it would be rude not to:)).
Weekly spend - w/c 24th August.
Mon - £35.20 pet shop(I got my new puppy:D)
Tues - £20 (party supplies for this weekend) £20 (day out at beach) + £18.74 thermos flask.
Wed - NSD (13)
Total = £93.94
I got a puppy on Sunday and he is a gorgeous ball of fur. Unfortunately he doesn't quite understand that he has to toilet outside. I take him out first thing and wait with him and he does his business but then about 30 mins late he sneaks into the hall and does a number 2. Any suggestions?? I came home from work yesterday and he was asleep on the mat and slept for hours - my nephews had him in the garden and he ran the legs of himself.
I spent money on a good flask on Tuesday because there are no microwaves in work. I can't live on salad and sandwiches all winter so I did a fair bit of researching and ordered the slightly dearer one but it should keep food hot for 7 hours. It will be money saving in the long run:o.
Yesterday was pay day - woo hoo but I don't touch it until 1st of the month. I put the hotel on my credit card but I already had the money in my account from my sister. My account was looking soo healthy for a while but I suppose the credit card needs paying.
Have a good day everyone:)0 -
Morning all,
It is finally a gorgeous morning. I was up at 6 wandering round the garden with puppy and then had a nice cup of tea while he tried to destroy my slippers.
My colleagues were talking about Christmas yesterday - they were saying that it will not be long until Xmas parties are being planned but it was said with a very weary air. I didn't have the heart to tell them that I've seen the Xmas cards in shops and I love Xmas:D.
Yesterday was another NSD but I'm planning on spending. I've looked at pet insurance and there are plenty of cheap policies out there if you are happy that they don't cover anything. I'm looking at a slightly dearer policy that covers a lot. I have also jiggled my budget to set aside money for ordinary vets bills etc.
I owe my brother money because we are having a party tomorrow and i ordered food from him as he can get it cost price. He hasn't worked out the bill for me yet but the amount of food that he delivered yesterday was shocking but we can freeze it and make use of it for probably the next 6 months:o.
Eating front - I have an appointment with a nutritionist on Monday and hopefully she will give me some useful advice.
I suppose I should do that work thing

The party was a great success. The bouncy castle arrived in the morning and then we had some early party people (small neighbours spyed the castle arriving). The kids loved the castle and an arty friend did face painting. The weather stayed good so that we could eat out in the garden and then a tortential downpour hit and we had to grab everything and run. The sun came out and the kids ventured back out again. The only downside was that I got stung by a wasp
very annoying.

Evening all
Well a very busy and exhausting week has come to an end but I'm grateful that I was able to enjoy it and provide a great break for my sister.
The bouncy castle peeps didn't show up until 3 so nephews and neighbours kids had a ball.
I drove my sister and niece to the airport this afternoon and I have to admit that it was so hard to say goodbye. My sister's marriage has collapsed and I know that she is heading home to a tough time and I wish we as a family could be there to support her.
A work colleague has texted me about lunch tomorrow and I will go but to be honest my heart isn't in it but I know once I go I will have a lovely time.
My wasp sting is v v annoying and is now a raised lump about a palm width across and is very hot and itchy. If it doesn't start going down tomorrow I might see about an antihistamine cream or something.
Plans tomorrow -
- another day of explaining to pup that the carpet is not a toilet, he will get there eventually.
- lunch with colleague
- meeting with nutrionist
- and the ever present ironing mountain.

Morning world
,
Pup let me have a sleep to 6.30 before he needed the loo. This morning I've managed to print of a 15 page questionnaire I have to complete for my appointment this afternoon but haven't put pen to paper yet.
My car lights and brakes were playing up this week and brother took a look at both on Tues past and I needed new brake pads and the lights were a simple fix. He came up yesterday and fitted the pads and all it cost was £24 for the pads - it is great to have a mechanic for a brother who is willing to help for free - ok babysitting is the payment.
Weekly spend - w/c 31st August.
