    Morning everyone

2013 has arrived :D and it's the final push to clear these pesky debts and start saving.

The only new years resolution that I'm going to do is give up alcohol or at least cut it down. I'm not a massive drinker but it makes me feel so ill and depressed it's just not worth it anymore. I'm in my 40th year (40 next year:eek:) and I want to feel better in myself. Hence the ditching alcohol, ditching diets and trying to become debt free:).

I've joined NSK challenge to really focus myself to become debt free.

Diesel spend - £150. It would usually be more but I have a weeks leave booked in January. I can't reduce this spend as there are no buses near me and I have a 50 mile journey each day (at least).

Food spend - £80. The cupboards are bursting from Xmas but spends tend to be on takeaways with OH so that is where the £80 comes in (OH doesn't have debts so he shouldn't have to cut down).

NSDs - planned 25:eek:. I have my envelopes already full and do not plan on going back near the bank until Feb:)

Sales - no plans to visit these as I never find anything I like or need.

Beauty products - £0. I think I have enough hair products etc to last me all of January.

Spends for meeting friends - £40 max. My sister and hubby are home visiting mid Jan so I want to be able to go out for a meal but as I wont be drinking that should cut the spends down. I have promised to meet a girly friend as well but we haven't agreed a date.

Ebay/Amazon sales - this is a bit difficult as at the start of my MSE challenge I basically sold everything that wasn't nailed down:). However I've got some diet books that I will get shot of as I'm ditching all diets. I also have a watch I no longer wear which I might get some money for. I will have to go see when the next free listing weekend is.

So there you go. Happy 2013 everyone:D

    Afternoon MSE world:D

I haven't been able to update my diary the last few days and it's been a wee bit frustrating as I wasn't able to catch up on other people's diaries. OH is away to work this morning at 5am:eek: and he woke me by accident.

OH and I like to go away to a nice hotel for weekend breaks throughout the year. I said to him last night that why don't we go to Portugal in May (cost shouldn't be that more expensive). He quite liked the idea so I've working on my spreadsheet to factor in a holiday in Sept:D. I'm going to spend the next hour looking at holidays:D.

I've done really well on the NSK challenge. I've got 5 NSDs already. I admit that some of my lunches have been strange but edible. I have done a big grocery shop because although cupboards are full - a diet of biscuits and chocolates isn't getting me my 5 a day:D.

So update so far this month -

    Diesel - £0/£150
    Food - £44.19/£80
    NSD - 5/25
    meeting friends - £10.50/40

Got to run as brother has just pulled up:D

    Hi all

Just a quick post before I head off to bed. I'm shattered as I've not slept well the last 2 nights (no idea why and I'm usually a good sleeper.

I think I'm having spending withdrawals:p. I'm so used to buying things even if it is just a few bits and bobs in Mr Ts. I'm been practising my new New Year resolutions so all (ok most:o) spends have to be planned. Really limits my impulse trips to the shops. However I will be debt free that bit sooner.

On money front - my envelopes are still looking ok and should still last me to the end of the month.

Hi Risin - you're only as old as you feel and it's only a number..................but I can't believe I'm almost 40:eek:. I have a colleague and she always says "there are those who wish they had seen it". So come Dec I'm going to have a fantastic debt free holiday to celebrate/commiserate:D.

So busy day tomorrow. I have architects visiting tomorrow and need to give them the grand tour. Work is very busy at the minute with so many people trying to promote something or other. I have a week booked off at the end of January (always do it) and will get my head showered for a week:)

Have a good day tomorrow everyone:)

    Afternoon everyone,

It's the weekend:D. I've been busy this morning as I had to return a birthday present I bought for my nephew and I also returned a Next top I bought in the sales which I didn't need. I ventured into Asda which is a lot less manic now and spent £10.15 on groceries (I didn't need the aero mousse but they are yummy and only 50p:D).

I went out for a run this morning with my friend and my knee seems to holding up.

OH is at work this afternoon and tomorrow so yet again I have the house to myself but will spend tomorrow with my Mum.

I'm still trying to find a low cost holiday for May. The problem is that that when I think I've found a billy bargain it turns out that once you add all the extras (luggage, transfer, taxes) it's no longer a bargain.

Tomorrow is a day of cleaning and preparing for the week ahead. I think I'm going to have to cancel my weeks leave as we're incredibly busy and short staffed in work. I will get leave but maybe not quite as soon.

I wish it was payday so that I could make another dent in my debts.

    Have a good evening everyone:D

    Morning MSE world

I don't know why but I've got Doris Day's "Que Sera Sera" going round & round my head:D. That could be my motto but I'm too much of a planner:o.

I'm supposed to be getting ready for church at 9 but I've a few minutes yet.

I ate a few extra chocs & a mince pie last night and then my time of the month came this morning so that explains it. With my ED the worst has gone but I'm trying to get rid of the binges which have all but gone. I have a calendar on my wall which I put a wee sticker on everyday that I don't binge and every day since the beginning of the month has a sticker:A. Last night I was a bit worried and then I worked out the reason so that's quite normal. I think I have this ED thing cracked:D

I have to pick up Mum's paper this morning so that should be the only spend. OH gave me £2 coin last night for the pot so I'm not really out of pocket. I'm going to make a risotto for tea and that can also cover my lunch on Mon & Tues so I shouldn't have many spends this month.

2 weeks this tuesday until pay day. I'm ok with money for spends it's just I want to get started on my next 2 challenges - 'pay everything of' & '100 day'.

I'm going to see if I have anything left to put on Ebay and try and make a bit of money this month

    Have a good day everyone:D

    Evening everyone:D

I must confess I didn't go near e-bay today. I thing it takes a certain mindset to list the items and it wasn't in me today:).

However I helped my brother sort out some flooring in my Mum's room and while we were at it we arranged her room:)

I made a large pot of risotto which Mum and I had for tea and it will do me on Mon & Tues.

I have my clothes ironed for tomorrow and now I just need to pack my gym gear and that will be me. I will now relax with a good book.

Monday again tomorrow - it does come round very quickly:)

    *sigh* yup ... it does!

I re-listed an item that hadn't sold previously (so no free listing unfortunately & 1 new thing (perfume that I got for Xmas that I don't really need so ......)

*sigh* (sorry doing a lot of that :o) - I've just had to cancel a week's holiday I had planned at the end of March. As I've been off sick for a certain number of weeks, I've had my leave reduced to the statutory minimum of 28 days :( (I get way more than this as I've been there years & you get extra every so often) ... I've lost ..... wait for it .... 9 days

Hope you have a good week :)

Oh dear Risin, I'd be so down if I lost 9 days leave because you can't help being sick.

I also think I saw somewhere that there is another free listing weekend coming up but I have my sister home so I might not get the chance - excuses excuses:D.

Not much news on the money front. I can't wait until payday and yes I know I'm wasting my life away:).

I was at my circuits class last night and feeling it today:p. I'm running with friends on Sat and then doing my bootcamp on Sunday. I've paid up front to my trainer so that I get a discount and I'm determined to get my monies worth....even if it kils me:D. I'm doing brilliantly on the non binge front and I'm feeling the change in my clothes. I know I can't diet as such but the exercise and cutting out binges has to make a difference to me mentally & physically.

I'm not due in work until 10 this morning so pottering about and killing time. It's a novelty but I could get used to it:).

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning world:j

It's Friday Friday :). I've to be in work for 10:) which is brilliant. No sign of snow yet but I'm on a half day.

I didn't go swimming last night because my good knee was playing up. I'm hoping running is cancelled tmw because of the snow. I won't be running until my knee settles.

I've got to go to airport tmw morning so that could be a bit dodgy.

I guess I better wrap up like an eskimo:)
