Oh god grandma, I forgot all about it! Yaaay lol (but I need to get the RV to do it cos I'm scared of the noise !)0

A fork egg masher here but from now on I'm using the wizzy machine
Going to get drenched on the school run, and it's thunderingI don't like ominous thunder atmosphere but not scared. It's an adventure although should I not put my umbrella up? It's metal!
DH is fishing tonight. Stupid man. It means a tea of cheese on toast for us because only do a big meal for him. Been told to add a splash of worcester sause on it so going to try it.
I finished my first leg warmerIt'l take another fortnight to do the other
Shopping coming tonight. It consists of store cupboard staples, tins of beans/soups/fruit, and water. My DD is getting a fleece for her bed for winter in this shop too.
DH has found out the wireless room thermometer that we need for our boiler. It's around £100 but he's going to try fit it himself to save some money. We're nearly ready to get it.It will save us money as at present when the heating is on the boiler no sooner gets one room up to temperature it has to click on again to get the other room up to temp. This way I'll set it to around 16oC and every radiator will click on at the same time until the 1 room thermostat senses it's at temperature.
Do you think 16oC is too cold in the winter? We only want to keep the chill off :cool:0 -
Fuddle if you like onions, add finely chopped onions to the cheese on toast, I don't mind them a bit crunchy but DD quickly fries hers before adding.0

Madartha I do same fork for one or potato masher for more - just put them in a deep bowl or usually I use my pyrex jug as its deep but wide so nothing splashes out........not had egg mayo for ages, when I can get out of this pit might make some........sending you big hugs I hope the pain wasn't to bad although the fatigue most undoubtably was......
Today its dry and hot out and here am I sitting still in bed at nearly 2pm grrrrrrrr there is so much needs doing in garden.......
Smileyt I will take a photo of my side garden and hopefully that will make you feel better about your allotment as of course son borrowed money off us and he was supposed to cut grass instead of repaying the money if not money would be paid to gardener to keep it cut, but he of course has done neither and grass now at nearly 5ft in some parts and this is side garden on view to the world remember.
I will no doubt be receiving a knock on door from conservation Dept soon for having a messy garden as has happened before son let us down, and so they come and say how my garden is letting the area down, but hubby refuses to touch is and I cannot get the blasted petrol mower started - I never thought about that when I bought it as son talked me into buying it instead of replacing it with another electric one and now I am left with a mower I cannot used and a garden that is a jungle - not even managed this past two weeks to strim round vegetable beds as until today its rained all day every day with just odd hour break.....cannot afford to go and buy another mower either. I will be glad when most of side garden is turned into vegetable plots but just not had the energy to do any more digging out for months......so please smileyt don't worry to much about your allotment ..........
GQ has the parents been in touch yet, bet no as they will know they are ok so not think you might be worried, they never do, do they?
Hubby not working this afternoon so came home via charity shop in village and brought me in a copy of one of the few Terry Pratchetts I have not read ( own most in audibo book format so have asked him when he is looking in cs for books and cds to keep his eyes peeled for TP books). Our cs are becoming so expensive - £3 for the book as its hardback and a first edition - only printed in 2001 and bet I can get it on-line cheaper but he at least got author right so not saying anything except thank you.
Other week in there saw a lovely dress that was a M&S one that they had for sale at £50, nothing great, just a summer dress and most dresses now almost as much even cheap primark ones - came home and checked it is still on sale in M&S for £35 brand new. I don't think they have any clothes items now for less than £10 - that includes tee-shirt, and the staff moan how no-one ever buys the clothes just books and bric-a-brac but when you point out the price they say oh we have to charge that to compete with clothes shops - only clothes shops in the village are a wedding shop and a boutique both top of the range so prices start in the hundreds do they honestly believe every one in the village only goes to them not else where.......anyway grumbles over, I don't need any more clothes so should not even be looking......
Blinking traffic - temp traffic lights we had on the road for months went last week and I thought great no more car horns and traffic backed up by mine, so today they have set up the light just past mine at other end of road so car horns blaring - why do people do it they can see the lights are on red and road blocked so only single lane for both ways, yet they still press the horns to try and make cars ahead move through red light, also that heavy out there the car fumes are really hanging around and my bedroom is stinking, think will have to close window and put fan on......I know perfect reason to get off my fat ahem bottom and out of this bed and move......
Oh wanted to ask what you would have done........other day woman knocks on door - have spoken to her once a few months ago when was out in garden, she told me she had just moved here from Scotland as broken up with her husband and living with parents, no seen her since....she wanted to borrow £4 said she was locked out and needed the money to go and get keys where she left them and had tried cash machine and no money in bank, so offered to let me have her passport till she could give me the £4........
was I wrong I said didn't have £4 but offered hubby to take her in car to get her keys - she refused and said no she didn't like to accept and when I pressed refused point blank......why on earth would she have her passport on her, and I did not like the idea of having anyone else's passport in my possession at all.
Have leant money out in past to odd neighbour and never had it back - still owed £7 from a woman round the back I chat to occasionally and she is forever saying I have not forgotten the money, usually on her way to or from off license where she buys a dozen cans at a time for her or hubby, not a blush about it and its about 18 months now, used to always be knocking to 'borrow' a cigarette when I smoked and as a smoker I always felt I had to give her a couple. Money borrowing started with odd pound that she did repay each time till the £7.
Would you have leant the £4 was only a small amount i know, she kept saying as she knew no-one round her she didn't know who to ask, why not accept hubby taking her in car rather than money for bus? I felt so bad about not giving her, although £2 was all the money I had to my name till dla went in the bank the next day
Over the years I have leant money or things and lost so many that now I have decided not to lend anything again unless it is to family or my closest friends, am I wrong.....me I never asked to borrow from anyone, we have gone without in past if no money, I could not consider asking for a penny from someone I don't know not even for food.
Right pain meds are kicking in and energy up a bit so going to move out and see how I feel when up and around.......
Do you know all the talk about egg mayo I might just did boiled eggs, mash and beans for dinner tonight, as a bit late for anything else and not had that for ages - although mine is sans beans I loathe beans with potatoes ( once oh I was about 16 mum insisted I had the dinner she had put out boiled eggs, beans and mash and boy did we have one big argument yep I was acting like a spoilt kid, and mum had forgotten not to put beans on my dinner as usually I did dinner but mum was off work with a dose of flu so had done the cooking, but I really, really hate them together, even now I would go hungry than eat them and I did that night as there was nothing else in to eat but I didn't care, at least my anger stopped me being hungry, have tried them together on and off but the texture makes me sick
On that lovely note I will love you and leave you
Hugs, Love and healing to all xxxxxxxxxxxxNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

We have one of the wireless thingamabobs and we leave it on 18c and all last winter never once had to raise it...... 16c might be a bit cold but then there are more of you in the house so might be ok and back door tends to get opened here a lot with the dogs.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

PAH thats a scam - what a load of nonsense! Tell her you're on benefits and have no money in the house at all and are really skint - then she wont bother you again!0

PAH
a) No I would not have loaned the money - as as she refused other help I would assume she was just scamming, well done for resisting.
b) I would be having VERY strong words with son as it's his fault you can't mow, and he should be doing anything he can to pay you back - actually HOW DARE HE treat his Mum like that :mad::mad:???
As for OH - I would be having strong words with him too - surely he is a capable man (i.e got arms and legs) and should be being a bit more helpful imho.
Sorry if that a bit blunt, but boy, you do seem to get the rough end of the stick!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
PAH, no way give her money, if she was/is doing that to several people, imagine the money she's making. Especially as £4 is such an odd amount, most people would maybe offer a fiver as that's all they had (no change). Agree with Mrs C too...
you shouldn't have to worry about the grass cutting, and son is not a stroppy teenager. You need to make him accountable. Hugs.0 -
Don't feel at all horrible for not lending her the money. If she was genuine, if,and in a pickle she would be grateful of any help. Nobody carries their passport around with them where they live, going about their daily lives, and I certainly wouldn't leave it as collateral for £4. I doubt whatever document she had was genuine or belonged to her. Next time call her bluff... ask for her mobile phone. I bet she wouldn't leave that0

Now here's a thing I have a Tesco's mini chopper and I have discovered if you whizz up boiled eggs even without adding anything else they become very smooth and creamy and you may find that you don't need to add any mayo but if you do most of the work is done for you:T"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy.
