Lazyitis way Mar - hard boil and slice eggs then use to make a sandwich but spread mayo rather than butter, and a good shake of S&P, sprinkle with cress - once in the mouth it tastes the same!

I do like a good egg mayo sarnie on a sunny day!

Vjsmum. It may well be mumps. I find it very interesting that it is mainly vaccinated kids that are coming down with these diseases lately. Wierd huh?

Mumps has been a relatively mild illness in most kids for a few decades now. When my older kids had it (now closing in on their 40's) my next door neighbour refused to believe they had it because they were running around the garden. I had to bring them close to her so she could see the little swellings.

The swelling is usually below the ears and at the corner of the jaw and is painful to touch. Many decades ago the swelling was unmistakable and required time in bed. I remember it well when I was young.

I grate mine Mardatha, find it less smushy than mashing, and add my mayo slowly until it's just enough, not too sloppy.

I mash my eggs with a fork if only a few, or potato masher if a lot. When running the sandwich business I made a huge tub every other day so was looking forward to a rest from it, but at the moment DD won't take any other sandwich for her packed lunch!

Softstuff - you beat me to it I was just going to say that I always grate my eggs for egg mayo as that's what I used to do in the tearoom as chopping or mashing a dozen or more eggs is a real pain in the wotsit! I also always put ground white pepper in the mayo for a bit of extra pep without the little black flecks that you get with ground black pepper.

Took DS for his jabs this morning and he was screaming the place down even before the nurse got the needles out as he is teething almost permanently at the moment - it looks like he may have OH's teeth (well not literally!!!!) as the pre molar that is coming through is massive in his poor little mouth - OH only got one lot of teeth at the back which grew in bigger than milk teeth and have short roots. His mum says he screamed the place down when he was teething as well. May have to bake the next door neighbour her fave Betty's recipe muesli loaf as a sorry as he's up a lot at night at the moment and I know she can hear sometimes.

Right must consult google maps for destructions on how to get to DD's new hydro place this afternoon - hope it's not too hard to find.

Mardatha have you still got your wizzy machine? You can put the eggs in it with the mayo and use the pulse setting to get the consistency you want.
