Ooh Fuddle, he's gorgeous. Don't fancy swapping him for a very naughty old age pensioner dog, do you? (Only joking, I love Bruno with all my heart but oh my .....) And don't be ashamed of being bankrupt, you are getting it all together now and doing a really good job.
Kidcat, hugs to you - was wondering how much longer you could soldier on without something giving. I hope OH takes on board what you've said and starts being a husband rather than a child. Although I have heard so many women say that they feel as if they have an extra child, meaning their OH.
Mardatha, thank you for starting the candles. I've just been on to have a look and it's really moving to see all those virtual candles.
Ginnyknit, hugs to you and OH.
Have finally done something useful today. I did the dishes (there weren't many as I haven't eaten much recently due to lurgy), planted up a herb tub and lots of tomatoes, and picked up all the bits of foam that Bruno had scattered liberally around the house after his chair-destroying session. Oh and I took the rubbish and recycling to the bins. I realised that I am not bone idle, but just have been ill and a bit low. I feel better to have done something.
I've been bitten by some insect - ahem, high up on my inner thigh . I suffer really badly from itchiness whenever I'm bitten so this should be fun going out in public . Might give the dogs a flea treatment before we go to bed, although neither of them are scratching so I don't think they have fleas. Perhaps I should put the spot-on on the back of my own neck :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyway, sleep well everyone, sweet dreams xx.
PS Greyqueen hope the dentist appointment goes well (insert grimacing smiley here!).Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Fuddle....I think that you should congratulate yourself on your ability to manage what has been a very stressful time....you are wonderful.
Kidcat....Good on you for putting how you feel into words to your OH...from personal experience I know how difficult it can be to do that....hopefully he will now get himself some help to grow up....you cannot allow yourself to mother him.

Thanks for the link Mar - I've lit one for all of us.
Fuddle - nothing to worry about love, we're all here either from past disasters whether self inflicted or wrong time wrong place or because of a strong awareness of how disaster may lie around the corner if we're not careful. Not BR but have had a house repossessed - so there's my secret if it makes you feel better. And for you information I didn't handle it anywhere near as well as you have - took me a lot longer that that to get my sh*t sorted so hold your head up high and be proud.
Kidcat - big hugs, nowt more I can say really - sorry. Looking back on it my ex had some seriously auty tendencies so I can go some way to understanding how difficult it must be however all we had was a naughty border collie not a houseful of small people so you have my admiration. Hope your words and actions have some impact, take strength from all the people on here who think you're fab!
Well, still reeling from the exam on Thursday, I finally started to tackle the TMA due in this Thursday - have actually managed to do about 3/4 of it before my brain mutinied and demanded supper and a little glass of wine! Will get it finished tomorrow once OH gets back from work. We're having an ordinary day tomorrow - so called as apparently when I was little I got to about the 28th December one Christmas before asking my mum in a pathetic little voice 'can we please hava an ordinary day tomorrow?' - no therapy groups, no support groups, no home ed social stuff, we are staying in! So that will be umpet (crumpets) for breakfast, too much cebeebies, carpet picnic for lunch, a bit of painting or colouring, building and knocking down towers, and reading the 'that's not my.....' books approximately fourteen million times (honest!!!!) - heaven!
Love and hugs to all - onwards and upwards!0 -
Stiltwalker:- Loving your 'ordinary' day!
Smiley:- Ouch! your poor chair! time to treat yourself to a new(to you) one :rotfl:
Fuddle:- Pick yourself up pet, Sh*t happens...It's the way you deal with it that creates character. It sounds like you are a much stronger person than you believe yourself to be! :grouphug:
Mardy:- Thanks for that site. Fellow believer here. Struggling with serious family illness at the moment so very pleased to see the candles. Thank you. :T
Ginnyknit:- Hope your OH feels a bit better today. :grouphug:
Fuddle's beautiful dog's eyes say it all....Patience, Love, and I'm not taking my eyes off that [STRIKE]cake/sweetie[/STRIKE]chew in case it gets away! :rotfl:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
I have RAS, thank you. It is all as healthy as it can possibly be now.
Byatt, I sent a pic to MrsL of my Dawg. I'll post one on here to bore you all.
I don't know anyone who has gone through the mire financially but I will say that I'm actually grateful to what went wrong, even though it has left me a bag of nerves, because I'm much stronger, much more defiant in terms of other peoples expectations and switched on about what is going on around me.
My dawg
How gorgeous !!!!
On the subject of rent, I rent my house out as I moved into hubbies house when we married. The family in it had their house taken from them as they never paid their mortgage and then did not pay the rent for four months :eek:
I was friends with this girl and was more annoyed at her taking the mick out of our friendship. She eventually caught up but hubby deals with her as we no longer speak.
The annoying thing was she was jetting around on weekends away and was living on takeaways (we worked at the same place)
Hearing your story makes me furious as people like her who are takers give a bad name to people who have been made BR. I would in future rent the house out to a family with nothing but never again to a friend.
We only break even on the rent and I am not a money bagsjust can't afford to sell it either.
It is supposed to be another glorious day so the bedding is whirling round the washer as I type.

Thanks for the link to the candle site. I have used it before but keep forgetting how to find it again.
fuddle
I don't think anyone thinks anything other than how brave , determined and resourceful you are and certainly not anything negative.
Going to manchester with two of my dds today to go shopping for prom dress etc for youngest. Found out two days ago that older dd is going to be there for the same day from down south for a business meeting. so we are all going to meet up. Serendipity or what? DH and dds laugh at me when I say it but it is surprising how things work out. Hope for Serendipity for fuddle.
Made cottage pie and meat and onion pies so dh can forage in fridge today.
Variofocals and being dozy sometimes can make me misread stuff - if it gives anyone a much needed laugh - I read Dodo cake as di**o cake!!!:o

Morning all, another (probably the last) lovely sunny day down here, we seem to have hot and cold running goldfinches in the garden today, they must be fledged from thier nest as they don't quite have full length tails, so cute!!! FUDDLE - MICROWAVE STEAMED PUDDING RECIPE - this one I always find works - Into bowl put 2oz margarine, 2oz sugar (any),3oz Self Raising flour, a pinch of salt, 1 egg and 2 tablespoons of milk. Mix well until smooth with a spoon or hand mixer. Thats the basic mix - variations - add 2oz dried fruit, leave out 1oz flour and put in 1oz cocoa, add rind and juice of a lemon or orange, put 1-2 tablespoons jam, marmalade, golden syrup or lemon curd in bottom of 1pint basin and put mix on top. You can also add in any spices or flavourings to the basic mix. - OK grease a 1 pint basin, put mix in, cover with clingfilm and pierce it all over. Cook on full power for 3 and a half minutes, it might still look damp on top at this point but that is ok. Take out of microwave and take off cling film. Let it stand for 2 minutes. Turn it out and serve with custard, cream, ice cream, yoghurt or anything you fancy I have used this for years and both the girls use it as well, never fails . Have a good day, have serious puppy envy he is a very beautiful boy isn't he? He is pretty enough to be a 'Chocolate Box Doggie'. Cheers Lyn xxx.0

:j They're up! They're UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:j
Good morning campers; if you'd been in my vacinity circa 6 am this morning you'd've heard a yelp of startlement as I went into the kitchen and saw that a darling runner bean was lifting its head from the punnet of soggy compost.
I soaked runner bean seed from Sunday to Thurs evening and planted it and was having conniptions that I'd overdone the soaking and they were rotting away underground and here they are, growing like whoopee! I'm stressing the beans a little as the slugs have been such barstewards that I lost most of the first batch and had to start again.
I've been to the dentist and got a clean bill of health, which is a blessed relief, too. Eye test in a few days and that's me MOT'd for the year.:rotfl:
Sun's shining and I'm feeling disgustingly perky, so I hope everyone is having a good day. Laters, GQ xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

He is a he yeah. We picked him up from the shelter when he was just little. He was handed in only a few weeks old after being found on the roadside.
He's a lovely lad. The vet said the same thing PAH She said he has a lovely soul.
stiltwalker the worst of it is that by the time the house was sold it was in negative equity. If we could have kept it for a couple of months longer we still would have had it - but then the fluctuating mortgage might have lead us to disaster again. Best off out of it while we only bring in what we bring in. Horrible though, it's the thought that I've lost my kids their home that tore me apart. The truth is the children were not and still aren't (I will tell them when they're older as part of their money education) that we lost the lot. As far as they know this house is better because it has two gardens. Such resilient little things.
PiC DH said that it was a good thing that it never came off for that very reason. He said you should never mix friendship with money matters and he's right really.
MrsL that recipe is invaluable. Thank you!

memehe's terribly greedy. He knows he's not to thieve food but he comes up for a sniff and on the retreat he'll let his tongue lash out in the hope he picks something up. little boooogar that he is.
smileySometimes I'd swap the pup for a laid back older one as his energy has me demented, especially while I'm trying to study but I guess dogs are a long time older. I should cherish these crazy times.
Sorry if I've missed anyone outThank you so much for not thinking I'm a bad person. I am over it now. It did enter my head nearly every single minute of every day for a long time but now I hardly think about it. It's just a case of rebuilding now.
The slowcooker was delivered yesterday while I was out and missed the delivery. They will try again later but think I'm going to miss it as out CS shopping with my friends MIL. I love a good CS mooch. I am only going to buy if it's something I need though. Wants or bargain lovelies are a no no this time. If it's something I need then bring it on
Have a lovely sunny day everybody.x

I have looked at my electric consumption and last month we consumed £20 more than the direct debit. I kknow what it is, it's the tumble dryer being used daily because of all the rotten weather we've been having.
Here's my plan. I have a small airer that I'm going to dig out (might need a second one if this system works) and wash on a morning every other day. I will hang the items on the airer (line if I can) that morning and hope they dry over night. If not finish them off in the tumbler but at only a fraction of the time that I would use from wet.
I feel like I have to be uber organised just to shave money off the bills. I don't know how you ladies manage to run a family, be OS and work. I'm lucky enough not to have to do the work bit at the minute and still sometimes feel overwhelmed!0
