Anyone tried these BB creams that are out. They cost around a tenner, which is a lot but if it works as the same as a moisturiser, primer and foundation then I would be saving money - only if it lasts as long as my current products though. Reluctant to try. Hate wasting money on fads and hate being swayed by advertisers too.

    Yes, stubborn goat here. ;)[/QUOTE]

I have, there's a thread on the Health and Beauty board, I was reading it for hours! The general consensus is that the Western BB creams are no good, stick to the Asia brands. I bought some Missha BB cream from ebay on recommendation and it's great. On spotty days, I need a bit of concealer before I put it on but for normal days it's great by itself. I paid around £6 with free postage. It takes a bit of perseverence when applying it but I don't think I'll go back to conventional foundation.

Mascara I would chuck if it's old but the foundo I would keep IF I was going to wear it and it still smells OK. Otherwise why hoard?

Lordy, oh lordy. I'd quite forgotten what a sunny day looked like. How wonderful is this? Time to get pressing those linen togs I reckon or do you think that would put a hex on it all? Sunny for the rest of this week and the weekend. Bliss! Now, where did I put that bottle of Pimms?

Thanks B&T, when I feel well, I start using make-up again (a sure sign I'm well), but when I feel bad, I stop, hence the hoarding, although I do tend to forget I have the stuff as stored in a drawer. On a good day like today, I would happily use a spot of mascara and foundation, who knows what I will be like tomorrow though.

Tea is nearly ready, slo cooker is a godsend as it doesnt heat up the house too much. Just got to chuck a couple of spuds in the micro then finish them in the oven for 10 mins.

    Hi fuddle

If you mean this one then I can thoroughly recommend it. I need something on my face and this is the best product I've ever used. I was surprised how well it covered imperfections but looked natural and glowing. I thought it would be less effective than foundation but I was wrong - it's better. I have no commercial connection with this product btw!

I ordered a sample from here first as like you I was unsure if it was as good as it sounded. I couldn't see that they had any available today but if byatt has one then you're sorted! In case anyone's interested, I did notice on the second page a link for 2 free condoms ;)

    Bonnie

I take it shampoo/conditioner can be kept indefinitely? I have started using extra bottles/samples I don't use as soap and cleaners.

Managed to check some of the dates on the sample products I had, and they went back to 2007!
Need to clean out things more often I think...:o

Edit, it's a lovely 72F here, I feel positively lamb like, springing about.

byatt I've used shampoo and conditioner samples that I've found lying unloved in a forgotten box on one of my very infrequent clear outs :o I'd use pretty much any product going back to 2007 as long as it hadn't been opened; the only thing I would stay away from is eye makeup. I realised how much stuff I had - samples, gifts of toiletries etc - when I was first unemployed last summer and we went for ages using them up and not having to buy more :money:

It's been hot in Kent too; just standing hanging out washing over the course of the day has left my pale arms a bit pink and tingly. I don't envy anyone doing any heaving lifting and carrying today, imagine if you had a large item of living room furniture to transport  :D :rotfl:

Yep, all commercial shampoos and conditioners contain preservatives so can be kept almost indefinitely. Use away and save yourself some pennies to spend on something nice. Like mardatha's lovely scented soaps.....

Byatt - as you know all autys are different, and extraordinarily difficult to buy for unless you know them really well. Personally for an 11 year old who is housebound I would play it safe with an amazon voucher, DS8 was thrilled to receive an Asda gift card and has kept a little back on it for "later". You can buy a gift certificate online and print out so nice and easy and then she can spend on anything to be delivered to her.

    :D:D B&T!!
I was going to ask what BB cream is but found the link and I will have some of that I think. After a lifetime of olive skin and black hair I've suddenly turned into this ash-blond-haired-and-grey-faced apparition and I need some new makeup desperately
Been gorgeous here all day, the son came to visit and is moaning that its too hot. I like it hot  so sat out on the swing all day to try and clear my chesty cough.. thought I'd cook the sod.
It was 17 this morning at half nine when we went up to the bank! :j and stayed sunny all day and still is. Amazing.
Hope all the poorly MSErs are feeling better for the sunshine xxx
