Thanks Mrs CHip, i seem to remember buying some once a long time ago. At the moment I buy Aldi Gammon joints and slice with my slicer, which does DH for the week. Should stock up while they are still £2.49 for 500g, think they go back up to £2.99 soon.
Fuddle - how much of that fruit and veg is she chucking away because her kids don't eat it? I'd love to be able to buy that much fresh but it would probably not get eaten or go off before I did anything with it!

Fuddle (and other chaz shop beginners) - charity shop shopping is addictive. You'l soon pick up the items you need for next to nothing if you keep a look out. Good idea about tights not needing lots of space and I wear skirts a couple of times too (unless I drop my dinner down them). I have a few local charity shops but they are suffering because a place that buys old clothes off you for 60p a kilo has opened in the area so people are taking clothes there. I have taken really old stuff there but save the better stuff for the charity shops.
I can spot a charity shop even as Im driving past at high speed and get very excited lol. God need to get a life.:rotfl:I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round0 -
Hello folks,
Congratulations Desperate Housewife on passing you OU course. I'd forgotten that it was about now that the results come out. Enjoy the new course when it starts.
Fuddle - try not to worry about fruit and veg: what other people have said is right: frozen and tinned fruit and veg are just as good for you.
I know I've plugged this site before, but not for a while, and there are quite a new folk around. It's worth having a look here to see if there are any food co-ops near you. I use our local one and it is fantastic. The fruit and veg is slightly cheaper than the supermarkets, and in far better condition (it arrives slightly under-ripe, and then ripens gently rather than going from rock hard to mouldy overnight like some supermarket stuff). As long as I place an order by 11 am and it is more than £5 I get free delivery the next morning - fantastic!
Has anyone got any OS recommendations for dealing with a horribly dried out face? I've tried "posh" creams and they just make matters worse. I think it's the weather, but right now, my face is really dry and itchy.0 -
Aldi currently have salad potatoes, swede, onions, broccoli, cabbage and leeks for 49p each until 10 December. Leeks are especially good value as they are 500g - the same weight is £1 in Asda and £2 in Tesco and Sainsburys  They're not manky either. I usually check their Super 6 before deciding what fresh veg to get in."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

ta..
Am having a monster toothache at the moment..
Today.. I can barely see straight with these bouts of pain shooting through my jaw and up my face.. it is so sore I could cry.
Go and buy some Orajel, its wonderful stuff, has worked on very, very bad toothache. Its a tiny tube for about £5.75 but you only use a very small amount. It really is worth the money.
Hugs
Opps just realised you are in Holland, but check out orajel on-line and see if chemist has it or something similar, it is good honestly. http://www.orajel.com/adult-oral-care/toothache/landing.aspx this site is a US one, so as it comes from there you might be able to buy it as we can in UK ( just in a yellow packet not red, bought some more to have in last week)Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I use olive oil on my hands in winter most days - just a teaspoon well massaged in then lightly rinsed off. If the fancy ingredients in posh creams are irritating then go for something really simple like Aqueous Cream or E45?
Beccatje - I know you are not in UK but can you buy over the counter codeine/paracetamol mix? V good for toothache. Or just ask a pharmacist and tell them what you have used already. And could you see a doctor and tell them that you need pain relief for 48 hrs pre your appointment with the dentist?"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -

Congratulations! :T
Had to go out earlier and bought a huge bowl of red peppers and one of bananas for £1 each at the market. Peppers will get chopped up and frozen, OH goes through bananas like they are going out of fashion. Also had to go to M&S for a gift card and 3 times picked up a "bargain" from the food shelves only to put it back with the realisation that if i don't need it and may not use it then it isn't a bargain.

I know its not exactly OS but I find E45 cream is the best thing for dry skin. If I don't quite need it I use Nivea, never used anything more expensive ( well that's not true tried the dearer creams but never found anything better than either of those)Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
