Hi GQ our garden is south facing & fairly sheltered, we also have a shed with a polycarbonate roof & a greenhouse heater in it, hubby also uses our spare bedroom as an extra greenhouse. We have a gazebo with a polycarbonate roof too, the beans are in a trough under this & against the house, so are extra sheltered. Hubby doesn't really do sitting still, so he tends to be sent out in the garden to play as much as possible, lol.

Well done Mrs C - soon it will all seem like second nature I am sure.
Hugs Gardenia - please keep posting, hopefully we can help lift you up.
Have been massively busy today, dragged DS13 to buy compost and then set too planting. Decided that as its so late we are just going to take a chance and plant everything into the grow bags (Ikea) and see if they grow. Have planted tomatoes, lettuce, pumpkins, sweetcorn, courgette, potatoes, onions, garlic, and most importantly - cucumber!! DS8 was thrilled to be able to plant them and has gone to bed hoping that tomorrow they will have grown!
Of course then he wanted to grow bananas too - Lidl had a banana plant on Saturday which I didnt buy as I assumed it wouldnt actually grow - wish I had taken the chance now.
Dug out old electric mower and checked was all working, good old flymo hasnt been used since 2001 and was working perfectly. It must be 25 years old as was third hand when we got it but will be easier for me than the petrol one this week as gardens are desperate and DH is still immobile.
Cat is struggling with the cone of shame and is feeling very down today she has insisted on sitting on something human for past 24hours which is difficult to manage. Kids gave her some ice cream today and that perked her up for a bit so am thinking her temp is right up again so may well give her a spoon full every few hours to cool her down.
Finally planted my blackberry bush today and DS13 is excited about picking blackberries again, having no bushes in last house having had a garden surrounded in them seems to have had an effect I had missed.
Trying to take two youngest out for day tomorrow but am worried weather may kill off plan so need to find a plan b before bed.0 -
So a goodly bit of gardening got done, laundry duly juggled, a quota of marking, I'm still very CBA about the ironing - and 2 glasses of wine aren't helping. Still tomorrow is going to be yeuch weather wise, so plenty of time for that.
Feeling a bit ground down at the moment - I've been on the go non-stop for ages, I've pulled a muscle in my arm helping DD in her walker, both kids (and OH) are snotty, I have and essay due in this week and have only just caught up on OU work for both courses. The garden is a mess and I'm desperate to get out into and sort it but have had no time and I think most of my veggies are going to be bought in plugs as I have nothing planted up yet.
On the plus side the ironing is up to date (at least until the weekends washing is dry!) and the nice man from Mr T is bringing all the shopping tomorrow including a very nice box of Pinot Grigio! We had a nice weekend up at my parents in the Lakes and I did get looked after beautifully even if DS joined us in bed in the early hours due to teething.
If anyone likes visiting gardens - this month's gardeners world magazine has the 2 for 1 card on it for loads of gardens all over the country. We've had it for the last 2 or 3 years and it's been great although sadly Harewood house isn't in this yearbut Muncaster Castle is back and that is great!

I managed to get two lines of washing dry yesterday. I am not sure about putting more out today because it is supposed to rain at lunchtime
I hope those black dogs are asleep and stay asleep today ((hugs)) to all those who have one.
Stiltwalker I used to do the whole iron everything in sight when I had my four oldest young. A conversation with my sister who had four a few years later led to me ironing every day. She just put everything away in drawers and wardrobe after airing and iron whatever was needed each day. it has made my life so much easier as it has become routine and the bedroom is tidier (if I put the clothes away that is).
GQ I find certain items get asked for by lots of people. Table and chairs are very popular. I have offered a few for other people and lots of peole ask for them. I had one who said he really wanted a set and i asked him when he wanted to collect. No reply. A week went by and I had already given someone else it by then. He asked if it was still available, his internet had gone down so he could not reply to my email. I felt bad but I had no way of knowing what had happened and I was fed up of people saying they wanted something then not turning up.0 -

CBA = 'Can't be ars*d' :rotfl:
OK everyone stop what you are doing...back away from the ironing... bribe the kids to go and play for half an hour....then make a cuppa...sit down....and ...relax  We are all doing to much, its Bank holiday, have a break, thats an order
Am off to pick up DGS in a bit, childminders don't work Bank Holidays but Mr M does so DD has to work. They seem to be wringing the life out of the staff at the mo as they are losing money. DD is exhausted but at least its a short shift for her (and us) today. DS also in work and had to beg a lift cos very few buses.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -

I am crocheting a lovely long waistcoat/sleeveless jacket for myself in between looking on here and I am keeping an eye on something on fleabay.
I will have to get a pic taken of my coat that I made a couple of months ago, I keep forgetting. it turned out well but I did not forsee needing to wear it into June but it looks like I will need it.0 -
Morning Everyone!
Thanks for all your good wishes, they seem to be working as our second night went much more smoothly. Not quite as 'busy'as the first night, but busier than we expected. Much less hissing at OH required and generally less fraught all round. Camp site owner had conducted some feedback which was very positive and he is happy for us to trade there regularly. He even waived the agreed 10% of our takings for trading there the last two nights. As it is only a five minute drive away it is an ideal pitch for us.
I thought you might like to see a picture of cat G watching his favourite TV prog.
Oh it's not working - will try to do it a it later, I have got to go a scrub out the van!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
