Well done however, for following through.0 -
PP so pleased for you, its good when the person in the right wins for once. Having been thinking of you and waiting to see what happened.
Alls not too well here, OH is too ill for his cancer treatment but they are popping him back in to try and sort his bladder out again. They are being very careful though and testing him regularly so if anything develpos they will act. I have been really wound up this week and am very tired but keeping busy.
Mardatha, have you tried the swede nuked in the micro then mixed with mash, the good old Scottish standby, it must be healthy as long as you dont put too much butter in. Im sure root veggies are good for you - arent they??
Got my salad spuds in and shallots other than that greenhouse is just filling up with huge seedlings and its too cold here to plant out -:mad: weather
Have got 2 bowls of bread dough chilling in the fridge, like the hairy bikers recommended. going to do cobs and rolls so I dont have to pay 25p or more each. Am off to Mr T bargain hunting as OH is at fishing club and we dont have DGS this weekend so am planning some yummy food and lazy days :jClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
PP I am so happy for you. I hope it all goes well for you.
Our car failed its mot which I fully expected because I knew there were jobs to do on it. but the good news is that the car was undamaged underneath by the impact other than a new light fitted so I am relieved that it is safe. The other party has agreed to pay for the light. The other jobs are either already done or will be done at the weekend so we can put it back in the garage next week. They gave us 7 days for a free retest.0 -
PP - brilliant news :j I hope that it all works out as it should when your OH and his friends go round.
ginnyknit - sorry to hear about your OH being too ill for his treatment
At work and having a quick lunchbreak (at my desk as usual). Hope everyone has a good weekend and that the weather is kind, although it looks pretty grey and dreich here.0 -
Ginnyknit - so sorry to hear your husband is not feeling well enough for treatment at the moment. I am sure the hospital will be keeping a very close eye on him, if it is the hospital I think you going to.
Pennypincher so pleased for you! It was such a lot of money to lose. Hope all goes as planned.
Day off work for me, hurray! Although I have spent most of the morning doing housework, at least it gives me the weekend to relax.
I am planning to go over to Clitheroe on Sunday to see my late mums eldest sister. She is in her late 80's and only time I seem to see her is at funerals!! So looking forward to taking her out to lunch and having a good natter!0 -
Hi everyone hope you are all doing okay, what are the plans for the weekend? My DD and I are going to Rochester tomorrow to have a scout around the charity shops and other shops in general. She has got really into vintage clothing so is hoping to find something and I am on the look out for some fabric as I brought myself a sewing machine this week and I have to say I am loving it.DMP Support Thread Number 1860

Ginnyknit, sending hugs (()) your way for you and OH.
PP very glad to hear that you are getting your money back. So, you'll be buying us all tea and cakes then .....
I am feeling rough but it is totally self-inflicted. I went to an awards ceremony last night for a voluntary group I'm involved in and drank way too much wine. I didn't realise how much I was drinking as I was having such a good time. I felt full of love and warmth towards the wonderful people I was with, and went round kissing and hugging them ...I can't believe that people go out every weekend and knowingly drink to excess though; I certainly will be more careful next time! I still don't know where I put the blouse I was wearing last night .... (don't worry, I was definitely wearing it when I got home - but where I put it once in the house is a mystery.) I'm going to have one more cup of tea and then send out a search party for it ....
It is cold here today - it's a bit disheartening when a woolly hat is still needed to walk the dogs at the beginning of May!!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Still trying to be frugal...0 -
Good news, PP - but sorry to hear yours Ginny
I am having a weekend off - ish. No big plans except to sort out the garden and get stuff planted. Strangely, wen3, I have just bought some material with which to make a skirt. I was looking at my favourite White Stuff stuff (:p) and it is sooo expensive (i.e. £40 odd) for a skirt that I thought I could easily make a knee length A line skirt for a fraction of that. I found some White stuff-y material for £4 and a pattern on line for £8 (if I don't get one this afternoon). I used to make quite a lot of my own stuff so hopefully I can manage it.
Thought I might try to find a boot fair on Sunday. OH is going on a corporate event to Old Trafford, I'll never drag the kids out early so might just leave them to it (DD is nearly 16 so hardly abandoned) and have a mooch. I just need to find one.
Just been to Mr T's as I had lots of vouchers for things I buy. Generally I do one big shop a month and then an Aldi / small Mr M near us in between. My big shop was £170 :eek: but I have stocked up with some good deals they had (i.e. half price rooibos tea - so I bought 4 packs and had two vouchers). And then a nice lady at the checkout gave me a £3 off voucher if you'd spent £10 on fresh stuff - said she couldn 't use it, which was really kind of her. And then I went to the butchers and spent another £30. It will do me for quite a while though, and I had to buy some veggie stuff as DD has "turned".
Shopping is strewn round the kitchen but I'm having a cuppa while i try to fend off a headache. I also had to buy a new iron as mine died last night. Which means the ironing still needs doing.:(
Have a good day / weekend all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
PP, great news! Really hope they follow through with their promise, no-one deserves to be ripped off like you were, hopefully it will make Mr non-dealer think twice about pulling the same stunt on someone else.
My car is in for MOT at the moment, dreading it! It started making a funny noise when it was being started so I suppose it's in the right place really. If I can get away with new tyres and brakes I'll be pleased.
On the plus side I found a Kenwood Chef in a charity shop for £15! Included a bowl, Kbeater and whisk. I've couldn't believe my eyes, snapped it up quick in case the decided it was a pricing error.0 -
PP.......Well done .:T:T thats really good news for you both......I have a Citroen Picasso and its a brilliant car for disabled hubby and wheelchair fits in super in the back, and its not too high to have to lift the chair in which mine is a very heavy b.gger to hump about:mad:.........Plus he sits nice and high in it which he finds very comfortable.......So glad to hear you will soon have the dosh in your hand and not the dealers.........Well done.....xxxx
