    Big hugs to everyone

I could cry I am so angry at the moment. I know it is a stupid thing to get so worked up over.

The fence I spent a week painting...............the paint has washed off in all the rain :eek::eek:

Ronseal have the worst customer service in the world, they are worse than a foreign call centre. They never ring you back, they say they will ring you straight back (to save my mobile) then booger off on their dinner while I am sat staring at the mobile to ring.

The first said they don't send anyone out to houses to check as they only have reps and they don't do that kind of thing so I would have to take pictures and send them to them.

Spent all morning taking pics and sending them (email struggles to send pics)

Long story short, they then said it was because my wood was too smooth :eek: I have several different types of wood. The front fence is different to the back fence, cat pen, trellis etc and it has all gone. They then said they would have to send someone out WHICH THEY SAID THEY DON'T DO :eek:

They then said they would have to get someone with more authority to ring me when they got out of a meeting and then they never rang either.

I think I will have to go to small claims as this has not only cost me about £80 but I have wasted a week of my life

I have a respite day tomorrow :j Dd's fella is taking Oh to his disabled fishing group, helped that he got a free day ticket in a fishing mag today - bonus! So I will be whiling away the hours starting with a long soak in the tub, crafting followed by a yummy picnic prepared today. I intend to be totally lazy and recharge my batteries :D

Have a fantastic day & don't do any housework or anything that isn't just for you. Enjoy.

PAH - sounds horrible, you have my sympathies. Hope you feel better soon. My lurgy is still here (yawn) but I will need to go to the post office tomorrow so maybe getting out will help - I'm quite excited to be going out :rotfl: how sad am I? I have had a few airings in the garden, but I've not left the house in ages.

Katieowl - I hope you have a lovely walk. Many years ago I had a lovely holiday in Solva, & we did some walking in the Preselis. I have some lovely photos from there, it is all so beautiful.

Kidcat - glad your DD continues to improve.

PIC - how frustrating - hope you get it sorted. What a waste of your time.

Love & hugs to all & enjoy the :EasterBun - I know I'm still not quite right as the thought of chocolate makes me feel a bit quesy!
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

OMG - we have been saying how much thinner the paint looks - seems we now know the reason, OH will not be happy!! Especially as I have been buying the more expensive paints to try to get a better quality - seems I could have stuck with value!!

    Hi everyone,

Been doing a lot of lurking but not much posting at the moment - but very excited as I've just bought my first bottle of the magical "Stardrops" :) [its easy to make me happy!]

Please could someone point me in the direction of the Stardrops thread? :) I'm sure I've seen one here in MSE-land but searching for it brings up 1,000's of options!

    Thanks! :)

Well now I know I was right about the bloomin paint we used on the stairs and landing! We used dewlux on the wood and it has yellowed whereas the one on walls was wilkos and that is still brilliant white.

Pah I hope you are feeling better now.

hugs for anyone that needs them.
We went to Gordy Riggs in Tod today and had a lovely time. We spent nearly £30 but that is fairly normal for this time of year for us. We also had a bowl of chips and a drink in the cafe across the road which was reasonable. I have made a mental note of things I still need so we will go back soon.

I stopped buying oil based paint because of the problems with yellowing and I now use water based satin for indoors, no smell, easy to clean up and most important no yellowing!

I think there's a thread on the "In My Home" board about non-yellowing paints and which are the best to buy.

    Edit: found it:

Well I just got a quote for DD's travel insurance £31 extra (it is normally £6 ish). That covers autism, anxiety and seizures. It sounds ok to me but need to talk to them as they ask if people in the travelling party have any health issues and I know they do but suspect they are not being declared either. I've arranged for her to have a E111 card as even that, ex was not bothered about. I can't really afford the £31 but for peace of mind it's priceless. Maybe I'm being over cautious but I'd hate for her to be ill and not have cover.

PIC, I'm so sorry about all that work on the fences and the end result was it being washed off. I'm not surprised you are angry. Have you heard anything yet?

PAH, poor you, that sounds awful. How are you feeling now? I know when I had flu the alternating being very cold and then having to fling the bedlcothes and everything else off, is terrible. Try and stay hydrated though.

Grandma, what or who is Gordy Riggs?

Does anyone know about travel insurance and pre-existing conditions? My ex is taking DD on holiday Europe/Africa and has taken out basic travel insurance although he's told her it covers seizures. I don't believe him. Plus he won't take any notice of anything I say. I'm guessing there is a way around this, but what? Very worried.

Yes definately have to tell In co about pre existing conditions, ive just done mine again today for my holiday next week, I even had to do it for one of the grandsons and he suffers asthma, when I took hubby 3 yrs ago to tunisia he as severe epilepsey we also told ins co about that, cos if a pre existing medical problem crops up you will not be insured for it should you need to claim..........
