Mrs Chip - that sounds such a good idea - which I may steal, I was thinking it would be lovely for DS8 class to have in their classroom. I will speak to his school after Easter, saying that DD6 would also love it, so maybe we could do something at both, and rig feeds into all the rooms to have a looksie.
As for the cat, sounds about right, we had a cat growing up who loved to watch one man and his dog, would spend hours watching it, chattering all the while. However real sheep terrified him!
Been a good day here, DD is making great improvements and her IV has now been removed so she can sleep in her bed tonight, no doubt I will spend the night up and down checking on her but it is worth it.
OH making inroads into painting the new playhouse ready for construction on MOnday, And DS13 and I have spent the days starting to rub down the dining chairs and varnish in a dark wood colour. Loads left to do, but if we get a good start tomorrow I am hopeful they will be finished before Sunday.
Loads of offers on paint and fence paint at the moment so trying to buy all that we may need over the year so we can get on with jobs as and when we have time.0 -
Enjoy the walk Kate, I really hope you don't finish up feeling like I do at the mo - every joint is aching :rotfl: I must learn when to stop! If the day is anything like today, it will be cracking up on the hills.
We have got two nest boxes that the chap put up when he took the trees down last autumn. A few prospective tenants but no sign of anyone moving in yet. I'm sure the robins are nesting already over the back of the garden, the amount of food that is being taken back must be for a sitting mum or chicks.
I had a look on ebay to see how much the cams and cable are, and they seem to be relatively cheap, and certainly a doddle to set up. I might treat us to another for next spring. Perhaps a Christmas pressie idea for Mr C, and kill two birds with one stone (not literally!).Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Shergar, I am so pleased for you, you will feel much better for a break and some sunshine will boost your energy levels no end. You add the jump up and down smiley :j, we all have different lives so dont feel guilty just enjoy it and tell us all when you get back loaded up with virtual rock for us all ... do they do rock abroad??
I have a respite day tomorrow :j Dd's fella is taking Oh to his disabled fishing group, helped that he got a free day ticket in a fishing mag today - bonus! So I will be whiling away the hours starting with a long soak in the tub, crafting followed by a yummy picnic prepared today. I intend to be totally lazy and recharge my batteries
Birdy voyuerism hmmm... actually I would love to watch a bird cam, but in an eagles nest please :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light

I will get my caravan0 -
Not caught up fully but have read about KC daughter home and hopefully asleep in her own bed now sans drip, and hopefully mummy is actually getting some sleep.
I had a very strange 24hrs - started around 1.30am yesterday, suddenly out of the blue projectile vomiting - when I did get a bowl it was better to have it more sideways than straight to catch everything. This went on for quite few hours, not sure exactly how long, and me trying to do it quietly as hubby had to be in work for 6,......it then progressed to me violently shaking and shivering, managed to get thermometer and found temp was 40.3 and although I knew it was high enough for me to strip off to bring it down I couldn't, instead I crawled out of bed and got another duvet, then put on radiator in here and laid in bed and tried to warm up hands and feet as they felt like ice even compared to rest of me which felt cold - I brought all three dogs into bed with me so could put hands and feet on them although with all my shivering and shaking they kept actually moving away from me poor things and every so often bravely flinging off the covers and putting fan on until I could not bare the cold any more then covering up again.....this went on till hubby came home from first round at 9am and he came up to wake me up as son was supposed to be coming over with the grandchildren, and asked me why my room was like a sauna.......he stood and looked at me and said you do look rather flushed and why are you shaking and making you teeth chatter, stop being melodramatic you cannot be cold. I took temp again 40.2 and showed him and he then offered to make me a cuppa, couldn't face it, but did manage to take sips of water all day and I got him to mop the bed a bit as no way had I been able to clean up the mess. Its quite fun trying to change a bed when you are shaking so much you feel as if you will fall to bits, but I got into a clean bed after a bit and as sick feeling had eased a bit was able to take some tabs to try and bring down the temp. Got him to phone son to say stay away as did not want to pass whatever it was onto the children.
Everything seemed weird not right at all all day and the weirdest thing of all was how time passed. I spent all day in bed, throwing up on and off and temp up and down and looked at time every so often and something hit me, I would check time lie down for what I felt was ages then look at time again and only a minute or two had passed, I checked and checked and yes what I felt was a long time wasn't, really weird, yet I did not feel time was passing slowly. Never experienced anything like it before. Its only this last couple of hours I have started experiencing time passing normally again. Hubby has just helped me change my bedding again - so tomorrow I have a bedding mountain to deal with, luckily none of it smells. Have had a bit of a wash so feel a bit more human. Tummy still not feeling 100% and temp still a bit up but only 38.5 now and not feeling anywhere near as strange.
So some kind of weird bug, I am usually very lucky and don't usually pick up any bugs, but by golly this one certainly made up for it. I was at the Continence Clinic at a Health Centre on Tuesday and it was rather full ( the health centre not the Continence Clinic) so most likely collected it up there. Not had such a high temp in many, many years and made me think how cruel I was to my children when they had such high temps and I would sponge them down as taught to for anything over 40 or 102 yet couldn't do it for myself.
Right will catch up with all the posts properly later now feel so tired so hopefully will have a proper sleep but keeping basin near by.
Hugs and Love and healing thoughts to all xxxxNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Try goggling Derby catherdrel, they do a life feed every year on the pair that nest there.£71.93/ £180.000 -
Shegar - How lovely, just relax and enjoy your holiday, you deserve it!
PAH - I know that awful feeling (sans PV thankfully), glad you are feeling better.
Ginnyknit - Can't offer you views of an eagle's nest, will Mr & Mrs O'sprey fit the bill?
Happy Easter everyone, hope there are plenty of hot-cross buns for all!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Big hugs to everyone
I could cry I am so angry at the moment. I know it is a stupid thing to get so worked up over.
The fence I spent a week painting...............the paint has washed off in all the rain :eek::eek:
Ronseal have the worst customer service in the world, they are worse than a foreign call centre. They never ring you back, they say they will ring you straight back (to save my mobile) then booger off on their dinner while I am sat staring at the mobile to ring.
The first said they don't send anyone out to houses to check as they only have reps and they don't do that kind of thing so I would have to take pictures and send them to them.
Spent all morning taking pics and sending them (email struggles to send pics)
Long story short, they then said it was because my wood was too smooth :eek: I have several different types of wood. The front fence is different to the back fence, cat pen, trellis etc and it has all gone. They then said they would have to send someone out WHICH THEY SAID THEY DON'T DO :eek:
They then said they would have to get someone with more authority to ring me when they got out of a meeting and then they never rang either.
I think I will have to go to small claims as this has not only cost me about £80 but I have wasted a week of my life0 -
PAH - I hope you are better today, sounds awful, and yes I often feel guilty that when kids are ill I will cool them down but when I have raging temp I will wrap up!
PIC - oh how frustrating, my OH has been painting the kids playhouse over last few weeks, and is disgusted at how thin the "good" paints are. Last year when we moved in he painted our fences, he hated it, took so many huge tubs of stuff and the quality even between different batches was so variable, he is complaining now that it all needs redoing again already.
DD slept through all night but has developed a really horrible cough overnight but otherwise seems fine, am not going to panic and am just going to watch her like a hawk!
Popped into shops yesterday and was stunned at price of Easter Eggs, ones that Mr T was charging £2.75 for last week are now 2 for £8 - how can they justify that? Thankfully I bought mine weeks ago, I struggled with storing them and did consider waiting, am so glad I didnt. Another example of why having adequate storage is essential.0 -
Shegar - please don't feel guilty, just raise a glass to all your friends and enjoy!!!
Kidcat,we're an inner city school "twinned" with a school on the outskirts of the city (grass instead of tarmac for the playground, lol) When we took our class to visit, they had a huge TV in the hall linked up to a nest box outside,it was wonderful,I didn't want to leave! our children were fascinated:D We've tried to have nest boxes and feeders in our playground but they don't last long - either nicked or smashed
ETA PAH - hope you feel a bit brighter today.Give without remembering, receive without forgetting.0 -

And they can tell how smooth wood is from the photos? Ooh, they're talented:p
Are there any instructions on the container that specify types of wood it's suited to? And types of wood it's not suited to? Do they actually write "needs to be applied to a rough surface"? Because it sounds like they're talking a load of nonsense. Go get 'em!‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
