Do we have any New Zealand members who could verify this please? If it's right let's just hope it doesn't spread over here

Grandma247 thank you for the link, so you can't grow squashes outside in the north of England - thats why I havent had a single one!!!! But they may grow in the bottom of my new walk in plastic greeenhouse, so I can put them ona bed on the floor and use up the space!

Fuddle hunny, damp tights will soon dry, we all have days when we feel as if we are not getting all our ducks in a row. My Dgs fell off the chair yesterday and banged his lip, I felt terrible as we usually sit together and watch Pingu but he was so comfy I let him sit on his own and I was only 2 feet away on the couch.

GQ have you really been here less than a year? I am so used to reading your lovely posts it feels much longer :rotfl: I make my dough in the Bm and then bake it in the oven as I prefer the taste. But do cook gingercake in it, I think the recipe is in the bm recipes on the site if not I will post it for you later - its so yummy and the top goes sticky when you take it out of the bm.

Taurus this is going on in the US and worse stuff is trying to get through too. Apparently the powers are trying to destroy their beloved bill of rights.
  • Hi,
I came across this page last night and would love to join you all if i may. I have read back a little although i still have a fair old way to go to catch up . I think it would be easier to send Good Wishes to everyone as i can't remember all the names at the moment (please forgive me) although can i ask:
preparedathome - I would love to take a look at your blog how do i find it please
Fuddle - I know how you feel Re: husbands interview its nerve racking waiting for that call.
Well i am off to unload another load of washing that has just finished and then i think its time for a little lunch.

Fuddle - all Mums have days like that with the kids... it just makes you more thankful for the days when it doesn't happen! Hope your DH gets the job, what is it?

Grandma247 - thanks for the tips, I really wish I could give my DH vegetarian foods but he's a MEAT man. I can just about get away with tiny bits in a soup if I give him a pudding though...

GreyQueen - you sound as excited as I was about being given a Kenwood chef last week, have used it 5 times already! Hope the BM is good for you ;)

Taurus - That's shocking about the food bill, how can they take away the right to grow food?!

Off to Asda tomorrow as have to pick up a game. Is there anything good cheap there that I can stock up on? Have 12 tins of beans and 7 of tomatoes left in the stash...

Fuddle keep your chin up honey. We cant predict everything that happens with our kids. They'll forget a bit of cold and water quick enough. Fingers crossed for Mr. Fuddle. My DH has been there too and its not nice having to wait.

As an aside my DD (5 tomorrow) broke her ankle last tuesday at school stepping off a 4 inch high step. Apparently I am a bad parent as I made her wear a sock over her plaster today to keep her exposed toes warm and made her use the crutches for the 50 yard walk from the car to school instead of the wheelchair she has been lent. Cant win either but not letting that bother me today. (We have a yellow ball but its freezing). Hugs to all who need them. xx

    Good grief

What will we do? Is it heading this way too?

At some point the people are going to have to take a stand, i.e. all of us.

This NZ food story has got to be a wind up, surely?

If it is true then i'm sorry, they are barking bloody mad. WTH is the world coming to when you can't even grow a few veggies or swap seeds?!!!
  • SUZID ... so sorry to hear about losing your dog, we lost ours last year and I only lasted 2 weeks before going to the rescue centre to get another. We've had her nearly a year now and she is lovely. I expect your other dog is keeping you busy and loved. There really is nothing like a dogs love is there? x
